If AFL was so bad Wellington wouldn't have drawn any more than 5000, Dave. But they drew a crowd that the NRL would love to have on a consistent basis. For the AFL, it's par for the course.

The Wellington match is the most recent, but games in Vancouver and toronto were bigger than any of the current nrl finals matches. Games in the USA, UK, RSA and PNG.
But that's been done to death on the international thread.

As for Perth, Subiaco is in a constant state of sellout and they would've got 80k easy if they had a stadium that size in Perth.

there have been several sell outs in WA through out the recent AFL season several crowds of the 40k mark.
unlike the NRL play a game over there attract an inflated figure of 20k call it a success then talk of launching a team there
