On these forums RL is simply dominating. The issues upon issues the dopey AFL organisation continually has is outlandish. Additionally the RL supporters seem to be giving the AFL supporters an absolute trouncing on these forums. One just has to look at the forum topics to see RL is well on the front foot, which as eels highlights, is actually an understatement.

Outside the forums is closer. But we must know the AFL has had several public very dodgy sounding kerfuffles re its participation rates. So count that one to RL. Integrity? Count that one to RL. Viewers? Count that one to RL. Crowds? Easily AFL. Drugs and racism in sport? AFL by a country mile

All up i give RL the advantage. :D Rabbits signature is superb.

Simply dominating......claiming the AFL is more racist whne the NRL have had more recent racism issues yet have ignored every single one.

Claiming the NRL won last year's ratings when the Australian released the figures and the AFL won easily. And they included the regionals KE!

Claiming the NRL has victory over drugs in sport when the NRL have been accused of drug problems but no results are released and no one says a word!

Yep, really dominating!

Clear up a few things
1- Geordies with broken arms = back when there was no RL in Eng they played Union. If you were a Doc/Lawyer/Acc and you got ya arm broken playing Union the company still paid you wages. Coal mines never paid the their workers. Yorkshire (Geordies)/Lancshire coalminers then formed a league (money-based comp) so that they could be paid whilst injured. That's how RL started ya brain dead Gonzo.
2 - you claim that 131m to 123m (Your figures- The Australian Newspaper says differently and gives it to the AFL) watch NRL to AFL. AFL states are only 45% of Aust POP and 45% of 254m football viewers (131 + 123) is 114.3m. Therefore if AFL get more than 114.3 they are doing BETTER pro rata! Conversely, NRL states are 55% of Aust pop and should get 139.7 viewers!!! Friends: they don't! NRL punches below it weight
3 - First year of PAYTV for AFL. Market penetration into Melb is poorer than Bris / Syd and very low in Adel / Per / Hob. But now footy being on its own station will drive subscriptions in those cities
Chew on that fellas

Rugby League popular in other states?^%#(*#@!!) Wagga Under 18s or Lismore Under 23s would thrash the best that Vic, SA, WA and TAS have COMBINED. Emerald under 8s could do it probably

Raider Dave you are the IDIOT. AFL punches above its weight bcos it has a smaller pop base on your figures. Read carefully; the Australian Newspaper gives it to AFL outright and when you consider AFL has a smaller pop base; the shame is with NRL. On a pop share you should have 139m; u only get 123m (on your figures). Remember The Australian says Australian Football is bigger in Oz than NRL. You are the typical meathead that follows the socialist game. 13 raised in Vic- not all born tho. Where are they now? Only one on Storm Senior roster! So just like your stupid game when you cant get the ball, play the mans- the pussy that you are!
