No. The following is much larger than the attendances show. Give us the right venue of the right size without gung ho league hating venue ownership and council, and we'll pack them in. The SOO this past season proves me right.
SOO proves nothing. It was a big event. People form QLD and NSW flooded into Melbourne, and many Victorians attended to see the big spectacle. Do you honestly believe that a one off event is a more accurate sample of support than 182 games over 15 years?

Your biggest crowd at Etihad was 25k, which would comfortably fit inside AAMI. But here's the rub; you're not getting into Etihad, so if you genuinely believe that your crowds can't grow without access to this stadium, the Storm are destined to remain a niche mediocrity.
Strange, I coulda swore the Storm played Parramatta at Etihad in front of 33,000.

Typical.
My source was the highest crowd list on this website:

http://stats.rleague.com/rl/crowds/melbourne.html

what's yours?

How foolish of me to visit a rugby league stats website to obtain rugby league stats  .

I stand corrected. The 25k crowd was the SECOND highest crowd at Etihad in Storm history, behind a PRELIMINARY FINAL against Parramatta, which attracted 33k (3k more than AAMI Park's capacity). The general point still stands. When you can't fill a fantastic 30k seat stadium, the argument that a bigger stadium is required doesn't make a whole lot of sense. It's like saying that the reason that Lions crowds are down is because the Gabba is too small, and pointing to a sellout crowd from 5 years ago as proof...

AAMI Park is a fantastic stadium. Isn't it odd that the issues plaguing the Storm at the ground don't seem to be affecting the Rebels? Downright bizarre  .

I'm sure its a conspiracy to drive RL out of Melbourne....the security staff can be so mean....and the weather is always horrible just above AAMI park for some reason!

Correct me if I am wrong but last year in Sydney alone did the Panthers and others have an overall lower crowd average then the Giants. Penrith average home crowds were 10,858 in 2012. While the Giants average 13400 in Sydney, despite only having one home game against a local team. This in fact puts the Giants in Sydney in front of the Roosters, the Sharks and the Panthers. Que raiderdave with his BS about AFL falsifying crowds.

Take away their one off game in that third rate stadium in Blacktown and the average in Sydney is even higher again!

Why shouldn't we? There is a certain league that we shouldn't believe though when it comes to crowds however...

One game last year between Parramatta and the Warriors drew just 4401 fans but the attendance announced was 5102.

There would have been 4k bomber fans there. Add 7k giants fans and its right on the money...unless you have evidence to the contrary..
