Don't be fooled by the 46-point margin - the new kids of the league had finals contenders Adelaide in a sweat yesterday, writes Ashley Porter.
It was supposed to be another touch-up job; Adelaide having training drills at home against the much-maligned Giants.
But while the Crows won comfortably, by 46 points, there were 25 minutes of play in the second quarter that other clubs should observe - and will worry Crows coach Brenton Sanderson.
OK, nothing great in the overall AFL picture - and they lost by heaps - but it was the way GWS played in those stunning 25 minutes that suggests we may have to take them seriously after all. The efficiency rate was GWS 78 per cent, Adelaide 52. The Giants went from flooding to playing man on man and bustled the Crows into error. The tackling was magnificent - 26-16.
Significantly, Israel Folau was a key figure in these highlights, including his first AFL goal from a set shot 55 metres out.
His rugged rugby league-style tackle on Brodie Smith could be felt in the stands, and his well-timed mark at full pace with his arms extended was even more impressive.

EVERYBODY was asking "Adelaide by how much?" as the side walked through the gates at AAMI Stadium last night.
But the questions now are how well the Crows are actually playing and how long until Greater Western Sydney wins a game.
From coach to senior players such as Dean Brogan, nobody from the new franchise has expressed much confidence in winning matches this year, but they are looking more like a decent team by the week.

I heard Adelaides coach was disgusted with his team's performance and rightly so. They must have really gone into snooze mode after the first quarter, which is a common thing i'd suggest as teams get shocked by how easily they can dominate a match. Its not normal to be playing a professional mens outfit one week and then play a bunch of teenagers the next. The drop in competition can really shock some teams. In the end though adeliade just cruised to vicotry didnt they?

yes .. its shows the complete lack of killer instinct in VFL sides E
happy to plod around .. & be brought down to the tsunami's level .. instead of tearing them to shreds like they should
& of courses theres the f@t slob who runs the VFL standing by the phone with a direct line to the coaches box .. should any team have a real crack at the side that the VFL itself owns .. the tusnami
he just rings the coach of the side threatening to have a real dig
& tells them he has 2 draughts of the 2013 draw infront of him
a good one .. & a very bad one for said coaches team
you choose which way its gunna go from here says the big fat slob
the VFL... vomit inducing it is that rigged & manipulated
& its dopey fans .. competely oblivious

Want to check the AFL ladder against the NRL ladder? And then try to say that again?
You are a pack of morons.
Incidentally, that was not a flogging between Carlton and Hawthorn.

Well looking at the bottom 3 of the nrl which are roosters 6 wins, pathers 4 wins and the eels 3 wins compared to AFL which have melbourne 2 wins gc 1 and GWS 0. So once again what is your point

And look at the top 8 in the AFL with barely a game separating them. The AFL this year is even at the top and uneven at the bottom. The NrL is even at the bottom and less even at the top.

Given it was last night I'd say no one!
Yet the blues who were 10th beat the pies who were 1st on Friday night!

that game was in front of 75k! The storm was infront of a massive 12k.
