maybe Id be mad if I had a clue what you meant
You claimed it was ''Blatantly untrue' , surely you had some idea of what you were talking about???
When a Perth team is shown in Perth you get an extra 80 - 90k in metro viewers, almost 150k extra when you include regionals . but but but
The Perth teams would loose no more than 50 or 60k each in overlap , so that would put you ahead even before you add in the extra FTA that they get.
your original claim was Perth get 2 to 3 times the ratings when the local clubs play. I said that's BS which it is.
Perth averaged 80k FTA on Friday night. Here are some of the FTA ratings when local teams played:
- rnd 1 v swans 178
- rnd 2 v ess 135, v WB 115
- rnd 3 v 127
- rnd 4 v suns 128
- rnd 5 v WB 147
- rnd 7 v Rich 66
etc etc
I know you're an idiot but even your math cant be that bad.

For split matches(which was the point) . It works out to (with a Perth team) 125k without a Perth team) 59k

Pussy is saying>>
As the AFL do.. by showing home games into SA and WA
Home team ratings double figures of non Perth teams.
Again >> this is why the AFL and channel 7 do concurrent games..

And not only do they double Perth's ratings for the night games, Perth gets an addition 20 odd day games!
ditto Adelaide, Sydney and Brisbane.

Theory out of the water..
i will say it again and again... not sure if he will get it..
IT IS WHY THE AFL AND THE NETWORKS DO IT THIS WAY
AS IT MAXIMIZES THE FIGURES THE BEST THEY CAN

I'm not religious
But praise be to Jebus .
If only the not so bright could see this ..accept this & move on .
It would stop this thread being choked up with excuses ...theories ...but buts....& anything else he can think of to JUSTIFY WHY THE AFLOL GOT BEATEN .
I have never ever seen anyone on any forum carry on with shit like this .
Even at BF ..with a gaggle of zealots posting over there ..they have accepted it ..
In the field of psychology, cognitive dissonance is the mental discomfort (psychological stress) experienced by a person who simultaneously holds two or more contradictory beliefs, ideas, or values. This discomfort is triggered by a situation in which a person’s belief clashes with new evidence perceived by that person. When confronted with facts that contradict personal beliefs, ideals, and values, people will find a way to resolve the contradiction in order to reduce their discomfort.

Haha, good one, destroyed.....
Let's say the FTA ratings in Perth are higher by 60k per round for the Eagles and another 60k per round for the Dockers.
Then we need to consider what they lose in FTA ratings per round due to:
- 2/3rds of matches on 7mate
- only 2 prime time games for local clubs for the entire season (compared to more than 10 for the broncos)
- competing directly with the news
- having some games starting before midday, and many at 1pm, which rate lower than late afternoon or primetime games
- having some local club games on 2-3hrs delay
- having all their Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening games starting at 5-5.30pm instead of prime time
And this is even before the fact the AFL loses ratings on foxtel with concurrent games
I have never denied the reason the AFL use split games. What I have disputed is how much of an advantage that is compared to all the negatives listed above.
destroyed......

There's opinions then there's facts .
When you can't accept facts & make excuse after excuse after excuse you've strayed into cognitive dissonance .
An example of an opinion .
I think RL is a far better game than AFL ..
Your opinion would be the opposite .
That's fine .everyone has an opinion .
An example of facts .
RL had more viewers than any other sport this year .
The numbers cannot be disputed on the data collected
There's no arguing with that unless you suffer from .....cognitive dissonance

here's where you've gone off track:
- I have never disputed NRL gets more cumulative ratings
- In my opinion cumulative viewers does not indicate more viewers, just more chances for the same viewers to watch. This is why this metric is not used by anyone else to compare different programs, except NRL people
You are mixing up facts with opinions

I am going to stick with the AFL Headqaurters on this one.
as i think they know what they are doing..
and have chosen the best programming and ways of increasing tv ratings nationally.
NlolRL maybe you should said them your resume... and tell them what they are doing wrong.
