No one is excluded from AFL's FTA coverage. In fact teams in SA WA NSW and QLD are show on FTA every week. The highly sort after friday night spot is shared amongst the last years best teams.

nRL, slaves to ch9

Who is excluded in the NRL??? Your full of it XMan. If anything the NRL(although they have just 3 matches) is a lot fairer, In the Qld time slot for egg. Brisbane had 12 games, G Coast 6 and Nth Qld 5.

What? If 1 FTA game for an entire year isnt being excluded I dont know what is. Furthermore, the Broncos have almost every FN. Thats not exclusion, thats exclusivity.

not sure what this means but the Broncos got 16 FN games this year. Case in point!

Next year is expected to be even more favourable to the Broncos

Friday night, Friday Nigjht, Friday night.... so What..... that just happens to be tjhe time slot That the Qld game is shown in. It also happens to be the time spot that the no.1 match is in. Brisbane just happen to be prominent in both these timeslots. 12 and 5

This is not a communist state, nor is it the U'7 where every one gets a game regardless of how good you are. Both codes, both networks favour the more popular teams. Win matches and you will become more popular.

It also happens to be the best rating game of the weekend and the only live NRL game...

There is plenty of rage on LU from RL supporters who are sick of seeing the Broncos ad nauseum and who want their team to get a fair go. The funny thing is NRL fans seem to think their good FN ratings are due to their codes popularity only. Well isnt it amazing what will happen when the only team representing 2 million people is shown every week!

Shame about the other teams! [-(

Ok, lets ignore Friday night then

In 2011 the broncos were on FTA 21 times out of 24 games. Cronulla were on FTA only 4 times! #-o Canberra a dismal 3 times! #-o #-o

Meanwhile Collingwood were shown into Melbourne on FTA only 16 games out of 22, yet the giants and suns were shown into their cities 22 out of 22 weeks.

After the first 7 rounds of AFL. WCoast had played all 7 matches on FTA, Freemantle 6 and collingwood 6.

while GWS and the Suns appeared on FTA 0 times over the entire season.

The digital channels still dont have the numbers or appeal of the main channels. and dont have to much larger an audience than Fox.

7 mate and Gem are FTA! Free, you know, no cost. AFL fans in NSW and QLD can see their team every week for free on digital TV or even on foxtel, or even on ch7 through foxtel.

Furthermore, Adelaide's 2 teams and Perths two teams are also shown to their respective cities on the primary digital channel every single week.

How many weeks will the Raiders be on FTA into Canberra next year? 1, yes 1! FAIL!!!!!!!

So this is what your argument has resorted to? The suns and GCoast appearances on 7mate?

As for the Perth teams, look again. The first 7 matches for west coast (in the first 7 rounds) got full FTA coverage I believe.

Given that Canberra got 3 or 4 appeances on FTA . After making the 8 this yearI think its reasonable to expect they will get more

Surprise - surprise all WC matches for the season appear on 7 =D> I dare say there not a one off

A draft version of the NRL draw for the first 20 rounds for next year has allocated just one free-to-air game for the Raiders, limiting exposure for their sponsors.

So 1 FTA game in the first 20 rounds for the Raiders. Hmmm

Not sure what youre on about with your Westcoast comments :-k Ive repeatedly said theyre on FTA every week, and they are. As are the Dockers, Crows, Power, Lions, Swans, Suns and Giants. Unlike many lesser light NRL clubs that get 3 or 4 FTA games for an entire season!

Pussycat,
its not a hard point to understand and what it comes down to is that the AFL have a better FTA TV deal for the fans who want to watch their teams. 8 teams get 22 games on FTA TV into their home states and the rest get (I dont know for sure but feel free to look) probabaly 8-20 games on FTA TV. The NRL however dont have as good a deal for the fans to watch their sides on FTA TV. Its not the end of the world and hopefully with the next TV deal the NRL will be in a better financial position to give the fans more.

It's a well known fact that the nRL just go after the most money possible and not caring about the fans in the process, while the AFL considers the fans when putting together the TV deal and does not go for the maximum $ (Live Friday night matches, day time grand final, no Good Friday Football etc decreases the overall value). Didn't Channel Ten offer the nRL $750 million to show all games on FTA live? That would have been a brilliant deal for fans. But there lies the problem, it would have been a better deal for fans and not the nRL's bank account in the short term.
