Still struggling with the concept that 1 + 1 =2

Rugby League, the dominant force in Australian sport!

no, I dont believe a season-long total indicates popularity only
You still cant answer why the AFL won every single head to head final. Was it because we didnt play our bottom 4 sides? Or maybe all the NRL fans turning over to the AFL when the NRL finished. Or maybe it's all those extra ratings boxes in Melbourne

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
Half the AFL Teams Rate at level of about 9, the other half rate 3 or 4.
Half the NRL team rate at 8(given that club games aren't there sole focus), the other half about 5 or 6
And the NRL rep teams rate about 10.

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
so you think the AFL's top 9 teams rate better than the NRL's top 9 teams? That's interesting given the top 9 changes from year to year for both codes.pussycat wrote: Tue Nov 13, 2018 7:24 pmHalf the AFL Teams Rate at level of about 9, the other half rate 3 or 4.

You think the AFL's worst teams rate lower than the NRL's worst teams. IF that were true you would only have to look at the reasons to see it isnt a reflection on popularity overall. The NRL have one club outside it's heartland, and this club has made the GF in almost half their seasons. The AFL have 4 clubs outside their heartland, and 3 have seen little if any success. You just cant compare the two scenarios.
The AFL may have a weaker lower end due to expansion, but that doesnt reflect the popularity of the sport overall. If the AFL only had clubs in AFL states their average ratings would be far higher. Having expansion clubs doesnt make the game less popular, it simply means there are clubs which dont have the same level of support. If the NRL ever expand again, and those clubs struggle for crowds and ratings, will that be a sign the NRL is less popular, or simply a normal part of expansion?

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
If we counted NZ FTA ratings our ratings would be much higher and If my Aunty had balls she would be my uncle.
Freemantle???? North Melbourne ???????????????????? Carlton??????????????? St Kilda????? how long have they been expansion clubs?
If you only have a club level than that's your entire focus?
Yet the NRL have the biggest rating matches each and every year
Are you trying to tell me that if you played the season with just your best 9 teams then would accumulate more ratings

are you suggesting these clubs rate lower than all NRL clubs? What evidence have you got for this?Freemantle???? North Melbourne ???????????????????? Carlton??????????????? St Kilda????? how long have they been expansion clubs?![]()
how is that even relevant? Your internationals never rate more than the AFLs biggest games. If you only have a club level than that's your entire focus?
1 concept with 3 games. Again, without SOO your sport struggles in comparison.Yet the NRL have the biggest rating matches each and every year
it would average more per game by miles, which is effectively the comparison you try to falsely claim given both codes have a similar number of total games. In reality the AFL have far less available games on TV due to overlapping games, which means a comparison of totals or averages is irrelevant. Are you trying to tell me that if you played the season with just your best 9 teams then would accumulate more ratings
Here's why we beat you during the finals easily: every game is shown in isolation, and there are comparable number of games per day. In the regular season the NRL spread 16 hours of games over 4 days, while the AFL cram 27 hours of games into 3 days. There's no way 9 hours per day will ever average the same as 4 hours per day, even if they werent overlapping. Once the numbers of hours per day are similar the AFL shows it's true dominance, winning ratings easily, with some by margins of up to 50%.
A clear indication of which sport is more popular on TV.

Re: Fight Club - Football TV Ratings
See your little sabbatical hasn't helped much with your state of mind.
Actually there wasn't as much difference in the final system as you make out. Your highest semi was played in isolation on a Thursday night. Ours was played on a Sunday afternoon in Brisbane. Easts v Souths was the 2nd rated highest Finals Match. and you had one of the closest ever GF's and you still only won it by 300k

nice way to avoid every point I've made. If you disagree how about attempting to argue whypussycat wrote: Wed Nov 14, 2018 3:03 pmSee your little sabbatical hasn't helped much with your state of mind.

yes there was a massive difference. We won every head to head final, some by close to 500k

It's an epidemic of blatant stupidity & the same old point that is wrong.
What the fuck is wrong with the brains of AFL fans .
Seriously all jokes aside ..there's something amiss .
You can't keep posting something that has been shown to be wrong
Admitted by WOOKIE ....WAS IN THE MEDIA.....NRL won this year without SOO .
Yet this fishbowler keeps repeating the opposite .
