Roosters have a very flexible salary cap. Indeed they even have room to sign current rep players Crichton and Hall plus Brett Morris. This flexibility extends to select players being invited to golf games in the east, with wagers of 10K per hole: Miraculously the chairman loses every hole.
If you prefer BBQing to playing golf, you can let them know and, upon signing, a BBQ will be delivered to your house with a brown paper bag under the hood, not with steak but neatly placed cash.
Bryan Fletcher has tacitly confirmed salary cap rorts while at Easts though no investigation into the 2002 premiership is instigated. Perhaps sworn affidavits from all relevant players would be a good start?
In contrast, the Sea Eagles are thrown under the bus and the Eels crucified for paying people out of the merchandise shop till in a desperate attempt to compete. There are countless other examples.
The people at the NRL know it is happening but do nothing because they sit in their jobs at the discretion of the perpetrator.
The fans know and this corruption is corroding in the integrity of the game.
why are you talking about this in the Ratings Thread ??

I know the Roosters always seem to be able to get whoever they want whenever they want but you'll need some actual evidence to prove this suspicion. A whistle blower, a witness, a credible train of direct evidence that is irrefutable.
Unless and until someone comes up with this Uncle Nick will just continue to say they manage the salary cap better than anyone else. And with his background in business that is certainly possible.

Millions more ratings, but but but ....... You people really are sd cases
Millions more in average ratings, but the peak ratings are a lot closer, and Im fairly convinced the peak reach audience matters, as does the length of time the average audience is sustained for - which is an extra 30% for AFL games. I know I know, you NRL guys like to ignore this shit though, trapped in your own echo chamber as you are, but it doesnt change the game length and average audiences.
Peak ratings indicate nothing and are only used to make losers feel better about themselves. You only need watch a program for 1 minute to be included in those figures . The extra length of a matches can see more viewers tune in just as it can see more viewers tune out. some of the propaganda and bullshit coming out of AFL house, as they bunker down in damage mode is just hilarious

Max your waffling on with the usual Myth and unsubstantiated bullshit. Yes the Rooster do attract a lot of big name players. That because there a highly successful and well managed club. They may have bought some big names but they release many as well. At the end of last season they released Kenny dowd, Pearce , Guerra, Michel Gordon, Connor Watson and Kane Evans. All, except for Gordon made there 1st grade debuts at the club. They have already released Blake Ferguson and Ryan Materson for next season..
Bryan Fletcher is a comedian and his only aim is to get laughs.
The Sea Eagles seem to be creating there own problems. They would do better sorting out there own mess rather than then blaming everyone else!

They still like to use there metro or 5 city numbers ever chance they get. See Peter Taylor , One of the leading AFL Journo's referring to the ratings today as 5 city national figures. Must be some type of new AFL speak.

Wookie, we all know AFL games go longer however you and other AFL folk are now saying this means more for ratings. It does not. It should mean more for your broadcast money but average audience ratings are average audience ratings irrespective of length of time.
And are you saying the media ignore regional ratings??????? Wow!!!!! This is just plain wrong. Every week we get regional ratings. Sometimes there are holes in AFL regionals. I suspect that is because they are so small in some of your lesser games they just don't register.
And then you say, " AFL regionals are never published." I don't know where to go with this one. Simply and absolutely wrong.

Regional NSW and QLD are huge, i think in time we will see a changing of the guard.
and a national foot print of tv ratings will change as National than the current 5 city metro
regional NSW is bigger and worth more than W.A
regional QLD is bigger and worth more than S.A
but only the 5 cities are highlighted. (its just stupid)

yes the game is the 30% longer, but that is not the big talking point..
the big points are the Big advertising opportunities
at 1/4 and 3/4 time, along with Half time which is almost double of the NRL.

Yep .
My argument all along .
We are more valuable due to having 50% less game time/ broadcast time .
Far less advertising breaks .
1 less game per week .
Yet we got slightly less in our deal

Exactly Leeroy. The 6th-7th-8th-9th-10th-11th and 12th biggest cities are all in NSW/Qld and are left out of the 5 city ratings. How convenient

but as you say it wont remain that way for ever.
