you lot think NRL is massive in All parts of the country also
so people taking time and attending a game costing money and sitting in the elements of the weather will attract the same level of numbers than a casual or fixed viewer who sits at home or heads up to the local bar for some pients of beer
the cost of every thing now days. in my 6 years in Australia things have shot up dramatically, and the 5 or so times ive been to Melbourne the weather has been overcast miserable all times
when the total for TV viewers for the NRL season , no origin included ..
is at 160 million ( highest for any domestic sport in the land)
they're not just casual fans you gormless clueless twit
they are rusted on supporters of the game ,
their love of our sport, their dedication to it
will deliver it $3.250 billion dollars for 5 years shortly as well in TV rights ... highest media rights for any sport in the land
the fumbling turd show from vicdopia needs its cultist zealots attending games in big numbers , to keep its failing clubs afloat
while the NRL has no such concerns
Wacko thinks the NRL will not come close >>>
watch him say this >> NRL signs a 5 year deal.. And Wacko will say look AFL is bigger tv deal still (not even realising AFL signed a 7 year deal)
and will have to be measured on PA basis.
Hard to measure unless done at the same time. Looks like 9 may be taken over too. I think we are in a new landscape then we were even 5 years ago - I think FTA is dying or almost dead to be honest - advertisers are putting their money elsewhere - i think in 10 years it will be like community TV. Live sport is the last bastion but we are seeing this dampening as people and sport move toward subscription TV. Even the AFL now has super saturday on Fox.

agree, i think what is helping CH9 is Stan keeping up with other streamers as it does offer quite alot.
but geezz it could be the last hurrah for FTA this Tv Deal..
USA FTA went big on sports (i wonder how there finances are doing (though helps with a country of 340mill plus)
the 2 deals (NRL & AFL) will be measured no matter what>> its been nothing but gloating and takedowns towards PVL and NRL about AFL deal
with one being done in height of COVID the other in different circumstances.

neither of them needed to be done during the height of COVID. The AFL proved that while Vlandys shit the bed on this.
The deals will be measured by the same people that always do with assumptions not really based on conclusive evidence - the NRL dont post separate broadcast rights accounts, and NRL folks do like to exclude parts of the media rights deal they dont like while leaving everything in the NRL ones.
But most of all - it wont start until 3 years AFTER the AFL one, with all manner of new things bolted on to get a better deal, it MUST get a better deal than the AFL in 2028.

I watched it all - had a few drinks by then seeing the Pies go down by a point lol. But yes - watched all of Suns. Was not an expected win anyway - especially with Collins and Miller out - even more so - but the nature of the loss was not good. Rioli looks several weeks out too - so would not be surprised if Suns don't make the eight - they should but.....

well when you're a whackjob , your grip on reality is ... loose at best
the PA amount is the only thing that matters ...

no
not really , most of the bumbling clown shows present deal & the NRL's next one will align
FTA is legislated to get certain sports & 60% of Australians still do not use any STV sports service
so its important to keep some content on FTA.
How FTA stations survive with declining advertising $ , moving forward is using their streaming arms to telecast sports behind paywalls ....
& supplement their revenue like this
Ch 9 /Stan WILL make a serious play at all NRL content ... & the NRL has plenty to sell
, DAZN will not want to lose the nations most watched sport to anyone , & the winner is
the NRL

for the Suns vs Crows game there are no numbers recorded
44k people brought tickets and paid to travel to and attend a game but the ratings show no one watched the game?
