They get 1 FTA game per year limiting their sponsorship revenue significantly.

Actually Raiderdave, the finances of both Port and the Crows are weakened by the gready $NAFL who take all gate takings unless Port's crowd is above 28k, and for the Crows above 38k. This is compared to the Raiders who only need a crowd of 10,000 to break even, yet they still struggle money wise. The sooner the clubs are separate from the $NAFL the better.

overall one of the best run clubs in the country are the lil ol Raiders considering how little national exposure it gets

Collingwood have a 35M training facility across the train line from the MCG. They employ a massive contingent of support staff. They arent necessities, theyre luxuries because theyre loaded!

But the Raiders are just as well off.....even though their trying to sell home games to Perth to gain much needed revenue... Not to mention the fact theyre leaching off the AACT government for 20% of their revenue!

So 1 FTA game for a top 8 team. AFL clubs would never put up with that sort of deal. With almost half of your games televised on FTA TV you should expect that you get at least 6 games televised out of 24 (one quarter) For a top 8 team they should be getting about half of their games televised. Out of the 72 games in regular season they have 1 televised. This means that the Raiders feature in less then 1.5% of FTA games.

Correct me if i'm wrong , but arent GWS and Gold coast barred from Friday nights? I also can recall showing some figures showing that12months ago showing how near half the AFL clubs had got fewer than 10 matches of a Friday night over the previous 4 years. Melbourne and Nth Melbourne didn't get much more than one.

The AFL reward the clubs who make the 8 the previous year with more Friday night games. Plus we have Saturday night live too. It's therefore evenly shared amongst clubs over a number of years. The NrL show the Broncos almost exclusively no matter where they finish, to the detriment of many other NRL teams.

All for ratings, nothing for the smaller clubs struggling for exposure. Any wonder why the raiders struggled for sponsors

Every week but they dont own Friday night! That's the difference. The majority of AFL teams are on FTA every week but the biggest game is Friday night and this is shared between the successful clubs of the year before.

Yet the majority of NRL teams are not on FTA every week, except the broncos who own Friday night, the biggest stage. Why? To maximise ratings and nothing else. And teams like the raiders get left behind.
