You guys have all the stats... what are the averages then? Does league do particularly well on fox?
When considering all games nrl has a higher average on fox.
However most AFL games are shown concurrently while none of the nrl games are.

When only AFL games shown on their own are counted we average more

There is a difference between a slogan and a statement of fact!
How do you determine the difference
Common Sense!

Earlier you claimed it must be true because they said it. Now its your common sense.

NRL games do rate well on FOX

what you may not see is the power of Regionals for the NRL ratings.

media constantly print the 5 metro markets and exclude the 9million in regionals areas
which are majority based in NSW and QLD

i do agree with NlolRL on this one>>

Friday Nights game was a good match up for both codes..

and the AFL did win this game by 150k

however NlolRL what do you recan the affect of the NRLS 6pm game has on the 8pm Game. ??

SportsCaptial >>> where did you get the AFL get 50mill per year..

i was of the assumption it was only 20mill per season...?

you got to remember the NRL deal is 5 years the AFL is 6 years..

Now a Network would pay that little bit extra for an extra year of security ...

Yeah I'd only ever come across metro figures. I thought QLD's regionals may would be particularly large. Where do you get your figures from? Would like to have facts before giving real input.

i quote my figures from Mediaweek which do quote both metro & regionals and tv Tonight.. which quote metro.
there are other sources like thinkTv / oztam which do weekly reports

www.tvtonight.com.au
https://twitter.com/MediaweekAUS?ref_sr ... r%5Eauthor

on weekends and next day figures are released.
note>> regionals are sometimes not added.

Minor impact at best given both games are over in 4 hours compared to the AFLs 3 hours. I certainly don't think it would be as significant as perth getting friday games on 7 mate which compete with the news and start at 5.50pm

It's actually 56m more per season. 50m was a nice round number.
2.5b / 6 = 416m
1.8b / 5 = 360m

oh ok... thanks
the deal i had counted N.Z T.V deal as the warriors are part of the league..
yes yes i know, Australian Tv Media only...
but that pushed it closer to the 2billion mark.

15 to 18 teams if not counted N.Z (plus 3 SOO games) pretty good outcome for the NRL really..

its hard to judge.. it does take the shine off only being 1 game on the marque Friday slot.

i did think the Souths Clash would break the 1mill thats for sure..
Brisbane ratings are looking down across the board

Minor are you for real .
There's one only game on a fri night for AFL fans to watch ....to get their footy fix

There's two for NRL fans ...the length has no fucking bearing at all
The fans of clubs in the 6.00 games have already watched a game with their team .
They've got their footy fix for the night & unless they are interested in the second game they will more than likely give it a miss .

I do ..

Your fucked up theories show how far removed from reality you are .

yes minor. NRL Friday ratings are similar to Thursday where there's a game shown on it's own.

Yes the length matters. How hard is it to watch 4 hours of NRL instead of 3 or AFL?

As I said, that wouldnt be anywhere near as big a factor as Perth getting a game at 5.50pm on 7mate. If Brisbane got the NRL on 9 gem at 5.50pm your ratings would be horrendous

regional ratings follow a very typical pattern. The NRL's regionals are approximately 2/3rds of their metro, and the AFL's are 1/3rd of our metro. The only games that really buck this trend are both GF's. Ours are higher, theirs are generally lower
