lol so true.. but we can not mention that..

it .. does... not... count...

the AFL in H&A season will only get around 12 matches that just past the 1mill mark anyways..
and it all comes from the same 6 teams..
Which teams would they be?
i would say the Top Teams that are involved in big ratings for the AFL this year and last year..
without even seeing the tv figures
would be

Swans
Crows
Richmond
Geelong
Hawthorn
Collingwood.
Essendon

these teams above rate pretty good on FTA and even better when are in great form
That's 7, then add Westcoast. However, the giants and bulldogs played in one of the highest rating prelim finals ever last year, so it isnt limited to just these 8 sides. I also bet Port Power and melbourne would rate similarly this year

my mistake on the 7
West coast yes and no.. not consistent enough on the national scale

Western Bulldogs and GWS was different scenario
you had a melbournian team on the edge of a freak run and a team that had not won a G.F in decades.
vs a team in the 1st pre lim in which the wider AFL public did not like..

these games in either codes will always pull big numbers..

Port to up and down either.. play in alot of low tv ratings games..

Demons however... are in the best form i have seen them in
in my 30 years of life..

It's irrelevant how WC perform nationally, they are still a massive club which draw big numbers in Perth. You comment about 6 clubs only is patently wrong

I am talking about how teams perform nationally..

otherwise i would not have Swans in there..
as they suck ass in sydney.. but rate well as club against some big teams on broader tv figure..

they are the 6-7 clubs on constant basis they rate well nationally...

errhehh im over this discussion

Rating nationally isnt that important, as long as they rate really well in one market. Eg: WC v Power may rate average in Melbourne but would rate really well in Perth and Adelaide.

I think it has more to do with how interesting the matchup is to neutrals than the support of individual sides. Carlton have massive local support, and when successful wil rate very well. However, presently they are a unwatchable

yes that is what i am referring too, matchup's that rate well nationally
to get those high 900k to 1.2million mark.. for H&A fixtures..

im not saying that other teams cannot do this..
but those 7 i named do it alot more often..

and yes Carlton and Suns look like the belong in VFL they are 2nd rate (shocking)

I wouldnt put the Suns in the same category as Carlton. They show glimses like they did against the swans. They just cant do it often enough to make the 8

OZtam and regional tam release them but they aren't easily accessible unless you have an account. They are ten repeated by TVnonight on their website, and MediaweekAus on twitter. It's hard to get access to every game though, there's plenty not reported and only accessible through Oztam
