Re: AFL & NRL Footy Crowds - 2025
the crowd was 45,209.
i cannot believe this is even being questioned.
Probably half were not even there in the 4th game.. and after 8 hours can you blame them

Yeah Id normally need more than a sports gossip column for reference, i note the comment he makes is not a quote from anyone at the NRL. Fortunately Ive got a phone call with Buzz in the morning. Ill clarify more thenTerry wrote: Sun May 25, 2025 3:12 pm
Sooksie 'ol mate, I would direct you to todays page 95 of the Sunday Telegraph. The Allegiant Stadium crowd was cited by highly respected NRL journalist Phil Rothfield as such, "The NRL has furiously denied suggestions it fudged the crowd numbers for the season opener at Allegiant Stadium Las Vegas.
The Stadium management released a crowd figure of 38,107 last week, but the NRL POSTED, 45,209 on the day of the event. TURNS OUT THE DISCREPANCY IS EASY TO EXPLAIN - THE STADIUM DIDN'T ALLOW FOR CORPORATE SALES AND ONLY COUNTED GENERAL ADMISSION."
Well, well, well..................will someone give me a good flogging with a wet lettuce leaf lolololololololol!!!!!!!!!! The exact thing folk have been telling Sooksie since last year has come to pass............again...... lolololololol!!!!!!
So what do you say Sooks??? 1. An apology? (I think not lolol). 2. A correction? 3. Maybe give your original quote some added context?? 4. Something? 5. Anything? 6. Or maybe pretend this never happened and feel proud you have once again besmirched the reputation of the NRL?
On current and past form I'm going with No. 6 lololololololololol!!!!!!!!!!! What do you say sports fans????

When the stadium releases a smaller figure, Ill question it for sure. It may have a valid reason, its still worth the asking.leeroy*NRL* wrote: Sun May 25, 2025 3:50 pmthe crowd was 45,209.

That's fantastic Sooks. You move in very important circles pal. Next thing you'll tell me you've got Il Papa Leo on speed dial lololololololol!!!!! I'm sure Buzz will set you straight and an apology, correction, added context will shortly follow.WookieReturns wrote: Sun May 25, 2025 6:31 pmYeah Id normally need more than a sports gossip column for reference, i note the comment he makes is not a quote from anyone at the NRL. Did you question the NFL on their figure of the LV Raiders game Sooksie? You know..........citations and all that. Or do you save your activism for your fave games arch enemy???? Re: AFL & NRL Footy Crowds - 2025
Really disappointing crowd for St Kilda. Terrible and I do wonder if the Saints will cop the same kind of scrutiny the Giants cop with crowds?
Sunday 25 March
AFL
Adelaide vs West Coast @ Adelaide Oval (Adelaide)
Crowd: 39,271
Melbourne vs Sydney @ MCG (Melbourne)
Crowd: 38,520
St Kilda vs Gold Coast @ Marvel Stadium (Melbourne)
Crowd: 13,486
NRL
NZ Warriors vs Canberra @ GO Media Stadium (Auckland)
Crowd: 26,512
A-League
Embarrassing crowd for the all Melbourne, A-League Semi-Final. 7,691 at AAMI Park for Melbourne City vs Western United.

Maybe the Saints are the ones who should be playing in NT - may fill a stadium.

Is that really acceptable though for a club that is 150 years old in AFL heartland?leeroy*NRL* wrote: Mon May 26, 2025 1:47 pm

The Giants were slammed for their crowd against Fremantle last week. Is that really fair when we see the St Kilda crowd vs Gold Coast, who are a top 4 team this season? How many Dockers fans would be in Sydney? Not many I would suggest, yet the Giants seem to be held to a different standard.
