AFL Fans new excuse of the month

Every comment from AFL fans and journos is now claiming that NRL was up against nothing in Prime time and that was the only reason the NRL won the GF ratings battle.

Sore loosers anyone... :_<>

The NRL was up against prime time programming.

http://www.theaustralian.com.au/media/n ... 7081215222

But The X Factor dropped 230,000 metro viewers from last week to 874,000 viewers and ABC’s Dr Who (447,000) and The Code (477,000) both fell more than 100,000 on last week.

What was the AFL up against in the day time slot?

GETAWAY 9
THE DOCTOR BLAKE MYSTERIES RPT ABC

Fuck all ....

The way AFL HQ is spinning this loss you can tell there will be a AFL night GF soon.

Thanks Wookie. Well done nrl on winning the gf ratings this year. A great effort. Wonder if this will see the AFL offer a night grand final on next rights deal ? I hope not but I think it is coming given the evidence.

Its almost guaranteed now, just look at the way AFL fans on forums/comment sections are carrying on about Prime time viewing being the reason for the loss to the NRL GF.

You AFL fans have almost assured a night time final with your winging and sulking...   :_<> :_<>

Your exactly right, its not just about a one off . That why we have the top 3 and 7 of the top 10. The Best Average on Pay TV, the best average on FTA once again we have accumulated the most ratings ...but ..but ... but -

And if you do have the biggest broadcast (which is doubtful) you wont for long . I wonder what stokes will say to the Mclachlan when he goes into Kerrys front office, next January, any tries sell the AFL :/; - is it any wonder 'D' got out when he did

The comparison is NRL v AFL, not rep games which are an entirely different thing. On an NRL v AFL comparison the AFL wins fairly easily it would appear, especially if you count ratings from Australia only since that IS where we live

Surely your not dumb enough (then again) to think the AFL will rate better of an evening, up against x-factor - sixty minutes and god only knows what prime rating shows. Everybody knows its on, everyone can plan there B'Ques around it. The October heat isn't a factor with the AFL. Medal presentations don't take a lot out of you, you can hold them in any weather. No, I think you'd be better suited sticking with the day game and going head to head with Elvis re-runs.

Even with just 75 % of our efforts , showing near half a billion less broadcasts , we still claimed 1st ,3rd and 4th spots and finished with far superior averages on PTV and FTA. Gill's really got his work cut out . Someone has left him in the shit.

ALL shows rate better in prime time. Yes, all shows. Thats because there are hundreds of thousands at home watching in the evening as opposed to an afternoon when people are working, shopping, sporting etc. an example is the Aussie open tennis final. It never rated on Sunday arvo, but once it moved to prime time it rates far far higher. is that coincidence? :_<>

you and your averages  You couldnt care less that taking them in isolation ignores part of the AFLs audience. its like me saying the AFL average more on Metro FTA, completely ignoring regionals, therefore we are ahead. wake up to yourself, you can compare averages of either if thr AFL is shown on both at the same time ](*,)

The lame excuses these fumblers use,  :_<> it is comedy Gold.

We have proven time and time again that the AFL GF was up against ready steady cook (nothing) and they still insist it will rate better against one of the most popular programs every year in XFACTOR LIVE PERFORMANCE.

The NRL gave 3 very popular programs there lowest ratings for the year in prime time, channel 7 and others tried to take market share away from the NRLGF and in the process just hurt there own popular programing that if played any other night would have won them the nights ratings.................but nooooo lets go into prime time up against the NRLGF and take a chunk out of them.

Backfired hardcore.
