Re: Options for a lopsided comp
I guess we will see at the end of the year. What I don't understand is why some rl people are desperate that the AFL fail as if only this will mean the nrl is doing well . The nrl can do well with the AFL also bring successful. I would be happy for the nrl to grow, most AFL people I know couldn't care less. It is no threat to AFL's success . The AFL just realisec it needed to grow and grow in significant markets, that being western Sydney and the Gold Coast. Both are areas if growth they needed to tap into. People in nrl should be greatful as it knocked the nrl out of their complacency and ignorance of their Sydney centric thinking, although I still think it exists to some degree, and it brought about a fundenemtal change in structure and thinking around not taking its fans for granted and not taking the game for granted. It has been a big kick in the bum. So rather than attack AFL at every chance , trying desperately to find some flaw to some how demean a game you don't like anyway, why not just acknowledge the game exists, a lot of people like it, it had a solid core following in Sydney but is not threatening nrl, and that whilst it isn't your game , there are some things you can appreciate such as the high marks that are taken and the aerobic endurance .

Phelpsy phelpsy phelpsy me boy. I think you have things confused. I'm not for the AFL failing. I'm simply pointing out its failings. There's quite a big difference there you know. I'm also all for, hypothetically speaking, stuffing the truth into a tightly bound firecracker, and handing it to John hopoate to light and ram up the asses of AFL supporting bimbos like Xman, stewie and co who choose to ignore the truth.

Re: Options for a lopsided comp
Ok if you dont understand the diff between wanting something to fail and pointing pout somethings failures then I cant help you. Alternatively, if you cant see why its imperative several of the AFL supporters be cut down then its nigh time for you to listen up closely to KE. The fact of the matter is the AFL is notorious for its arrogance...and to a degree some arrogance is understandable. Rl supporters on this site have long since positively acknowledged the large crowds and memberships the AFL draws. Unfortunately to this date only pies has acknowledged the positives of rl. Ie massive tv viewer numbers, international presence which completely and re soundly shames the Codeof marngrook, state of origin and so on and so forth...and so on and so forth...
Further, the afls arrogance appears to know no bounds ie lets recruit izzy folou and train him up good to be A superstar
this arrogance is mirrored by Xman stewie and co to the nth degree. Hence they must be and are, as you so eloquently put it, cut down!
Ya feelin me now Phelpsy?
If you're still feeling a bit disturbed by this I understand. People like Xman, stewie, beaussie and co are disturbed folk who need good ol fashioned rough treatment for them to learn. It would be much easier if you were to side with the sane and healthy minded league fans phelpsy, so I'd like to offer you the opportunity now to join us and help these disturbed bastards recognise the truth. You with us phelpsy?

Re: Options for a lopsided comp
Talk poppy syndrome then it sounds. A need to cut down . I too acknowledge the SoO as something the arl do fantastically ... Would like to see it at end of the year though but there is no taking away how big it is. Ratings, I think the nrl do okay, not at AFL levels but it is decent enough , very decent in fact. International representation is another great thing nrl has that AFL does not.

No tall poopy syndrome is not what we have here phelpsy. It's called helping those who choose to be ignorant of the truth by, hypothetically speaking, stuffing the truth into a tightly packed firecracker and having John Hopoate instert said firecracker into said ignoramous's buttholes.

Re: Options for a lopsided comp
You mentioned needing to "cut down" but anyway. I think most people in AFL acknowledge what I do. And thanks for acknowledging my points, including the better ratings for AFL on tv. What gets me is some nrl people can't do the same and acknowledge the success AFL is having ... No one suggests they are taking over, but they have created a market where once there was none or very little. Could you imagine if you told someone 40 years ago in Sydney that there would be two teams , one of which gets higher crowds than any nrl team in Sydney , and you get more live games on ftA than you do nrl they wouldn't believe you. Throw in record membership and they would say you were crazy . So the AFL have done well . But you will get someone like Dave trying to find how this is hughly unsuccessful . They dig and dig to find things to support this. They'll point to tv ratings as of they should be as high as NRLs whilst conveniently leaving out pay tv ratings or having some formula that says its really low . They will say crowds are low because not as high as last year despite being greatly higher then nrl crowd averages whilst on the same hand advocating crowd numbers can vary due to a multiple of variables ... Yet discounting those variables when considering AFL crowd variances. It's this inane need to degenerate the AFL at all costs and ignore facts that clearly state the AFL has forged a market in Sydney that is stupid; again as if the AFL does grow in Sydney it will ruin nrl

The losing percentages of AFL and NRL teams tell completely different stories. Oranges and apples, another woeful comparative analysis from pies

Really, you are making yourself look like silly, even after Phelbsy defended you. He made some valid points, but just missed the mark badly around the fact that it is you and the SpamxMan that bend the truth consistently. So pies, the Dogs are a basket case side under your pathethic logic, they have lost 4 of the 5 games to the top 4 sides. Of which 2 of those games were lost by 6 points to 1st place and 7 points to equal 2nd. For the first 3 rounds they had an average of 5 of there 17 top players out. my my.
Raiders have turned a 1 from 4 record, into a 3 from 6 including a win over 4th placed Roosters
Warriors last 3 games have been a win, a loss to equal 2nd placed Souths by 2 points and lost to the on the improve raiders by 4
Tiger this year have been average so far, but this is no surprise, they like the raiders have started the season poorly for the last few years consistantly. But side have either been in the 8 or not far from it consistently
on the other side of the coin, the AFL sides that have been noted, are consistantly bad and over the last few years
You do look stupid, clap that one spammer

Dogs uses the defense that 4 of the bulldogs losing games were against top teams....yet they all ignore the same issue when criticising the AFL!
