We have the best ratings in the country now Fred, why would we want to change ?

The fact that that more people tune in to the AFL's glitz and glamour events then the games themselves say a lot about Aussie Rules.
Just like SOO, more people follow an event that engages all teams than a game involving 2 teams. Shock horror

Its beyond pathetic, The medal presentation out rating the Grand Final itself and now the 2014 medal count topping your ratings :(/ :(/ :(/ . What a great game you must have almost as popular as the medal ceremony. A person selling tickets to watch the grass grow could fill a stadium in Melbourne.
The medal presentation was a small section of the telecast and benefited from a short time sample minimizing averaging. Basially more people tuned into the end of the game than the start, and they continued to watch the presentation. Why is that an issue?

Well not really. In the AFL people can watch the games they want to. Their local sides are guaranteed tv coverage on FTA, so they dont have to get stuck watching whatever three games Nine decide to dish up. Notice the good ratings in all three major AFL cities? Thats because the Brownlow is off interest to all - its competition wide.

Theres a reason why finals and the brownlow show more. The same applies to the NRL or you wouldnt make a song and dance about Origin and the Grand Final
Origin = Rugby League, Brownlow medal = presentation night.

Games are played on the field and that is where the real passion and excitement is/should be, as Fred Said presentation nights are as boring as bat shit.

Our TV contract allows a person to watch every second of every game, every week.

who anointed you the judge on what sporting event is truly entertaining or sport? The Brownlow is interesting to many because its about who is awarded the best players of the year, covers other awards like the goal and mark of the year, and summarises the years results. It's amazing the NRL Daly M (or whatever) is so poorly viewed. Don't RL fans care?
