Yeah it has been, Australian sporting fraud!
After SL war the GF went to a night time slot held in October.
That was near 20 years ago, that's history!
Dumbarse.

20 years of cowardice
20 years of shame
20 years in fear of the AFL
now i know why you're always rambling on about the a-league. you have little man syndrome after being in the shadow of a bigger competition all these years

Do they?
It's seems to me that if the NRL held its GF last week, you'd say the same thing that they were hiding.
You're an idiot.
The only sport out here to move season is what?
Can you answer truthfully for once mr tough army guy?
Forgive me if I'm wrong mr paralytic moron - but DIDN'T the NRL finals used to be held at the same time and your GF was the day after the AFL GF??? Didn't the NRL deliberately schedule their season a week later so they could stand apart from the AFL and get more attention?????? And YES I would I do think they scheduled a week later to avoid the AFL GF!!!!

They were held the day after the AFL Grand Final up until 2000, everything got jumbled around for the Olympics, and then in 2001, back to the last Sunday in September. From 2002, the NRL moved the Grand Final back a week, while starting the season a week later. Theres a few variables to throw in there, but it looks to me like the season had to be jiggled from 98 on to incorporate the 2 extra rounds, and in 2001 they even had Origin on Sunday. Im not sure the move had anything to do with the AFL Grand Final but it didnt hurt the cause either.
Could be right Wook - I always thought it was because they wanted a "clean" week for their GF week where they didn't have to fight for air space

why is it pathetic to follow a sport? if RL is a better sport why arent more Australians following it?

Its beyond pathetic, The medal presentation out rating the Grand Final itself and now the 2014 medal count topping your ratings

. What a great game you must have almost as popular as the medal ceremony.A person selling tickets to watch the grass grow could fill a stadium in Melbourne.

I think your response is pathetic .... Personally I find the Brownlow as boring as bat shit but why put down others who watch. If they watched anything related to sport the nrl would rate well also. Soo does as good product... Best of the best, whereas talent to thin on the ground for 16 teams.
Maybe that's the way forward ... 3 teams in Sydney, 2 in Brisbane, 1 in Melbourne, 1 in Perth and 1 from nz.

We have the best ratings in the country now Fred, why would we want to change ?
The fact that that more people tune in to the AFL's glitz and glamour events then the games themselves say a lot about Aussie Rules.
