government pays for everything WA and PNG, cook the books like the storm have done, and still have no one care for them in Melbourne and still struggle to produce a local player in 80 years of league?

I quote >> IF NRL did not expand to PNG (which yes has been paid for by The Government >>

they would of expanded to NZ2 or QLD5
Which in fact would bring in alot more in TV RIGHTS money..

good luck in getting a big name player to leave Sydney or Brisbane, to live in a 3rd world city in a bomb compound with personal security. even if the player goes to live there doubt his wife ill want to live there also

Port Morsbey is known as one of the more dangerous cities of the world, . it would have to be some part time FIFO in gig for the non local & with the team mostly filled with locals to build the core base. Google says there is a feeder team called the PNG hunters that play in the QLD cup. im sure you could get some cheap land with sea views of the top end of Australia from PNG but convince the mrs to move and stay would be a different issue!
im sure Leroy once mentioned the hunters he may be the man to ask about there structure and how they work & the new team may just work similar but on a larger level & budget

imo its more a political issue China is moving in and Australia wants to remain buddies with PNG also, ALBO is a life long public servant one from the Fabian Society (inner city champaign socialists) happy to spend oother peoples money with no plan except desperate to be liked & PLV is a sales man desperate to out do the AFL so on paper it seems a good idea. given he wanted the WA government to run the Bears, so the 600 million budget for the PNG team could pay for some hot shot CEOs and management team

there has been plenty of Internationals played with no dramas at all
Crowds and viewership has been huge..

For me Team will be made up of Locals from there Division 1 league

(soccer around the world is played in Dangerous countries. with not much drama at all.
Parts of PNG are quite safe some are not..
Port Moresby is a changing city.. with lots of work being done..
From Private investors, Parts of PNG are growing.. they are asset rich.

its year 11 that will be interesting , & we will know how that might look

by year 5 or 6
The club grant from the TV deal 2033-37 will be near 40 mill pa per club , clubs will need a minimum 30 mill extra pa to run
its whether they can raise this themselves ,

they'll play to 12 full houses each year ofc , they will be competitive on the field with their players paying no income tax so they'll have quality on the field
But they will get next to nothing from gate receipts or memberships in Aust $...so heavily reliant on sponsors

i think the sponsors will be there, There will also be constant Government support from both Sides.
If PNG are there in 20 years or whatever..
Australia will still be funnelling money into PNG programs etc even knowing they say "its a 10 year deal"
