no it wasn't the same time spammy you clueless tosspot ,
PVL negotiated in 2020 , did the NRLs new 5 year deal then ... a mistake , in hindsight, he was rushed & the deal was inadequate.
402 mill pa back then , dolphins entering in 2023 got it up to 422 mill pa , & Perth entering in 2027 will get it up to around 460 mill

Adolf Mclachlan did a 2 year extension in 2020, then the record deal 2 years later in 2022, when the environment was completely different.
now
we all know AFL completely over stated the actual value of their 647 million pa deal .
it has 50 million pa in contra included , & 50 million pa from telstra who aren't even a media rights company
Both the AFL and NRL negotiated COVID discounts in 2020 for 2020-2022.

The AFL did a 2 year media rights extenion in December 2020 for 2023-2024
Dolphins were announced October 2021.
The NRL media rights deal was extended for 5 years in december 2021. This deal includes the dolphins, it was not an addon.
A new AFL media rights deal was done in September 2022 for 7 years from 2025-2031.
we all know AFL completely over stated the actual value of their 647 million pa deal .
it has 50 million pa in contra included , & 50 million pa from telstra who aren't even a media rights company
This is assumed - and hoped - by NRL folks all over the place with zero evidence. Telstra and contra havent been announced. We only know sevens contributions as a percentage increase in 2024, and nothing at all about the rest other than the total cash in the deal is "north of 4 billion" as cited by Mclachlan at the announcement.

We'll get some exact numbers next March in the AFLs report, unlike the NRL which keeps it all hidden away. But AFL media rights have generally tracked in line with the announcements - for the 2023-2024 deal they were just 11m short of the 946m announcement from 2020.

2023 - 444.238m + 16m contra = 460.238m
2024 - 459.507m + 16m contra = 475.507m
Total 935.745m

(The 2017-2022 deal came in at 2.322b with COVID discounts, after being announced as 2.5b)

The previous 1.25b deal for 2012-2016 came in at 1.235b
ah no dopey
the NRL did their 5 year deal in 2020 .... 23-27

https://www.foxsports.com.au/nrl/nrl-pr ... d74bbfdf75

the Dolphins weren't even on the radar then
its ok
you might get something right one day     :(/ :(/ :(/

when the Phins were announced in Dec 2021 , thats when the NRL got an extra 20 million PA from foxtel because they got all 12 extra games

which is exactly what I said occured

it will go up again for Perth in 2027

then through the roof for 2028
I can't wait .... can you spammy ?

very Smart by the NRL introducing Bears in 2027
they should be able to claw back some loss tv money...

Or they may even sign a 6 year Tv Deal (which would benefit the NRL even more)

hoping the NRL go with 6:15pm Sunday games in future every week. I think they are a perfect slow for the NRL
who are getting big numbers at 4pm ... lead in will only building this Slot.

they could go 6 with STV , but not with FTA as Ch 9 will get no further benefit from a 9th game ,
so the new FTA rights deal will be from 2028

still
DAZN may be keen to tie up the STV rights through to 2032 with a 6 year deal for 2.4 billion ish
that would mean the NRL's 2027 media rights would be worth over 560 mill
