The nrl has many promotions similar, look at the revenue raised from each club at the end of the year not the overall total numbers to see who is full of it or not
AFL is by far leading the race with money raised from memberships!
The sure are leading the NRL with attracting and raising more money

Come on makingdumbnormal, the AFL are the kings of BS on every level. Luckily they've got a captured audience with you and your bubble dwelling mates nodding heads and applauding in unison with every BS proclamation.

Sad really. But there ya have it.

buying a club membership is supporting the club directly, not buying a membership for a cheap meal

it does support the NRL club >> Leagues Clubs Fund the NRL Team
through to grassroots & funding grants.

so the more money the leagues club makes it floods on down to Districts in the area and the footy team :thumbleft:

So any one that wants a beer or dinner, needs to buy a $5 membership before hand!
That some how counts as direct support to the club, over buying a club membership with sole interest of supporting a club at a far larger cost!

no you do not have to buy a membership, it is not compulsory at all.

Memberships are so cheap it is ridiculous at NRL and AFL (the deals they throw out)

a Family at a leagues clubs would spend a $200 without even trying.. on a nightout this goes toward your CLUB.

I think the distinction is that if you buy a membership to an AFL club it is because you support the club, want to go to a few games - whereas joining a Leagues club could be for multiple reasons and nothing to do with supporting the club. That's my thinking anyway looking from the outside. I'm sure there are people who follow the team linked to the club. For instance, I just joined the Musgrave Bowls club - as they have cheap meals and beer. Also a member of southport sharks - but don't follow the sharks - have some good bars and new Kactus Bar does a great Guacamole dip.

In saying all that - membership numbers are rubbery as hell for AFL and NRL teams - 3 game memberships- 1 game membership - full year membership should be all that is counted.

yes i agree,

i am not at all saying, just because Panthers Group has 145k members, that they are all fans of the club etc etc..

i am stating as a Asset of the club and and becoming a member of that club (where you eat and dine) it gives back to the club
in a total different way...

(memberships as spoken about before should be measured by)
Full time Memberships only

the way things are going you will find a free Western Bulldogs Membership in ya Cornflakes box soon
