crazy numbers.. (DOUBLE)
everyone called it not expanding>> but Fans and NRL new that BRISBANE had so much more to offer and the benefits have been HUGE
a 3rd BRISBANE TEAM will have the exact same effect #HUGE $$$$
Broncos to 40K average crowds & 62K members
Phins to 30K average crowds & 35K members
those fumblers were pretty close tho with their prediction a 2nd team in Brisbane would have an adverse effect on the Broncs & RL in the city
I was one who said that the Dolphins would have an adverse effect on the Broncos, I also said that the overall NRL attendance in Brisbane would increase not decrease, and that the Dolphins popularity would wain, and that the Dolphins would have no effect on the Lions and that it would take 3 years to get a picture.
So no effect on the Broncos or Lions, the Dolphins decline will be more noticeable next year.
The Lions are still number 2 in Brisbane.
so you said the Phins would affect the Broncos
& then you said but they also wouldn't
eyeballs in Brisbane
Broncos
then daylight
Phins
Then daylight
a bit more daylight
then some more .... daylight
then the Broncos NRLW team
then maybe the wions

The dolphins were the 3rd most watched by aggregate & average in the NRL on FTA TV in 2024
553,500 per game nationally
Brisbane accounts for about 30% of TV ratings for most games involving QLD teams
185K in Brisvegas on FTA
probably another 155K on STV..... & they didn't even make the finals
the Kitty kat wions, GF last year , 2nd favourite for the title a month ago..
would be at about 75K for the 2 coverages total in Brissie
its not even close

Yes, No, Yes, Hmmmm.
Average Home games, dolphins home @ Suncorp only
Broncos 40,814
Lions 30,598
Dolphins 24,715
So how did my prediction go…
Since the the introduction of the Dolphins:
Broncos have gone up, considerably, so very wrong.
Lions have gone up so right.
Dolphins have gone down, so right…not by a lot though.
Overall NRL in Brisbane up…so right, but that was not a hard prediction.
That the introduction of the Dolphins would not have an adverse effect on AFL…right.
Lions still the 2nd popular team in Brisbane.
Next year….Dolphins and Broncos average to go down, perhaps not by a lot.
The lions to go up by 1,000+.

The lions play at near capacity stadiums every week the broncos don’t.
Yet apparently no one follows the lions only expats and people that fly up every week!

Great to see how quickly the all QLD semi-final sold out during the members only ticket window period yesterday. If only the new Olympics stadium was available now.
Good signs for the ongoing growth of footy in Queensland.

Yep, same with GWS in Sydney!
Mean while the for always successful storm can’t get close 22k with no AFL on in Melbourne that day

Brisbane Bears for me.
Just hope they only consider players who are 100 % fit.

regards to your prediction..
you made this prediction on the dolphins going down from 1st year..
in the meantime they went up on every metric
and they did all this without even making the TOP 8
LIONS GF 3 times in a row>> you would hope they would go up
Lions are number two as they are a well oiled machine and have made pre lim or GF since 2019
winning is everything in sport.
NRL is way up in Brisbane with the inclusion of the Dolphins crowds ratings and members ...
I look forward to your next prediction
Broncos & Dolphins to go down
