That is the latest what they are reporting>>>
Sydney’s two biggest sporting stadiums will be knocked down and rebuilt within the next four years as part of Premier Gladys Berejiklian’s $1.8 billion plan to transform the city’s sporting landscape and end the two-year-long stadium wars.
Sydney’s Allianz Stadium will be demolished next year and rebuilt by 2019 and ANZ Stadium knocked down in 2019 and reconfigured by 2021, under an ambitious timeline being pushed by Sports Minister Stuart Ayres that is said to have the backing of Ms Berejiklian.
Under the plan, Allianz, at inner-city Moore Park, would have a capacity of 45,000, and ANZ, at Olympic Park, a capacity of 75,000 — down from 85,000 — but it would be redesigned as a rectangular stadium.

They’re going to knock it down in 2018 and build it “by” 2019. So in a year? Even two years is a stretch. Indeed ambitious. Indeed... will not happen within those time frames.

Except they are 1. Not allowing 2 years and 2. Are having to demolish an existing stadium.

You gotta love Sydney
A stadium built in 1999 is to old! Let’s just waste tax payer money to rebuild another one
Gotta love those mining royalty’s from wa and Qld to keep the shit hole of a state a float

Piss off idiot .
You can't argue any points put up in here .
Why should the rectangle codes put up with a stadium that is terrible for viewing .
Why should the AFL have any say when they've abandoned it & haven't had any of the top crowds there for 14 years.
Why should AFL stadia get updated or built anew & that's fine with you yet other codes when going to get the same it's bad bad bad .
Especially when the AFL is nowhere near the most popular sport in Syd .
Answer the questions instead of repeating the same shit & clogging up the thread ...again

So as usual you can't answer any of the questions
Or debate any of my points
You just as usual rant with crap .
No dribble
I am on topic
Trying to discuss why the stadia need a redo .
You can't seem to throw up any argument against that .
I'm done with this no hoper

The AFL may want to use it again one day? And if they do, they should keep it oval for that.

Fuck off
So according to your logic
Because a sport MIGHT want to use it. Then the 3 other sports should suffer viewing wise .
Only a fumbler could think that was logical.
Then again
Just look at the posts on here by some of them

I am pretty sure this arguement is over. Allianz & ANZ are both being knocked down and rebuilt into rectangular stadiums from what the news seems to be reporting.

Yep
& according to fumble logic .
It should not be redone to suit the 3 rectangle codes because, the code that don't want to play there anymore MIGHT want to in future .

Multiple sources reporting same story (looks like a done deal)
3 BRAND NEW Stadiums with a few years of each other for Sydney.
Stadium bill to soar above $2b following cabinet approval
Two of Sydney's major sports stadiums will be demolished and rebuilt at a cost of $2 billion after state cabinet signed off on an expensive conclusion to the long-running saga on Thursday.
However, the $2 billion price tag to rebuild both Allianz Stadium at Moore Park and ANZ Stadium at Sydney Olympic Park does not include the cost of rebuilding Parramatta Stadium.
Fairfax Media has confirmed cabinet has signed off on Allianz being demolished and rebuilt in 2018 and ANZ the following year.

Looks like this arguement is definitely over. ANZ will.be a 75,000 seat RECTANGULAR STADIUM
Is Allianz going to be rectangular only too?
