Lacks a little face validity that list though
Not sure what you mean?

The list lacks some formatting that's for sure but not sure what you mean

oh wookie you poor bugger

This is from the ABS from 13/14 sports participation

Hockey (indoor and outdoor) 64.4 58.4 121.4
Horse riding / Equestrian activities / Polo 17.2 116.2 142.0
Ice / snow sports 56.4 44.0 99.5
Indoor cricket 51.4 1.3 54.4
Indoor soccer 178.2 42.0 218.8
Jogging / Running 740.5 624.0 1,363.1
Lawn bowls 129.4 53.2 181.3
Lifesaving 12.5 19.0 28.1
Martial arts 105.6 110.2 220.4
Motor sports 48.4 1.1 49.1
Netball (Indoor and outdoor) 25.5 387.1 413.8
Outdoor cricket 205.3 9.7 219.7
Outdoor soccer 321.3 118.7 438.8

That is just a cop paste of a small section for over 15 yr olds. But as you can see there is a separation of INDOOR Soccer and OUTDOOR Soccer.

So what were you saying ?
Yet your aye league is broke and next to irrelevant.

Speaking of irrelevant it was a good effort by the fans to sell out Penrith stadium for the ladies game!

Wonder when the panthers got anywhere near that
Effort last time

You know damn well im referring to the millions quoted by the FFA and not the ABS data
Hence why i use the ABS data (and for which I have been lambasted on this site)

If I use the FFA numbers which does aggregate, they are only doing what every other code and cricket do.

Either way, we outstrip your participation rates.

I prefer the ABS data, which as I have shown does separate them

when your one trick provides one of the world's best attendance records in a small country I dont think we mind.

Similarly, the yanks dont care that their most popular game has little to no international growth.
NFL is the name of the football organization.
The actual sport of GridIron is massive in Canada too. So that blows your argument out of the water.
Gridiron professional in TWO COUNTRIES that are bigger than Australia!!
IS ONLY AFL THAT IS A SINGLE NATION FOOTBALL CODE.

CANADIAN GRIDIRON
www.cfl.ca
I think you'll find American gridiron is different to candian gridiron. Including size of feild and numbers on team

The dimensions and numbers are different. But both sports are still recognised as GridIron.
A bit like Rugby and Rugby7s. Both are still Rugby.

So at the end of the day GridIron is still professional in two nations unlike AFL.

Going to enjoy watching how the AFL fanboys are going to to try and spin the fact that the Matilda's friendly match on the weekend had a bigger crowd than the Giants do or die final.

AFL has massive issues in western sydney, people are just not interested. The AFL HQ have been saying now for years, when they start winning people will come. Well they have been winning for the past two years and they still can't get more people than the Womens football.

lol based on one game of soccer :)))
considering western sydney has a high immigration level AFL wouldn't be the most familiar game & GWS have been easy beats for the majority of their 5 years & they are constantly pulling crowd levels of your aye league and NRLOL teams :)))

I think post hoc is right on the money. Interest in AFL and giants is small in western Sydney. Soccer and rl rule. It is one of the biggest areas re population in Australia and AFL are a minor player at best. This is the exact reason the Giants are there ... to grow the game. It's a challenge.

I'm not surprised that a soccer match with a national team got 15000. This is soccer heartland. Gws have a long way to go. But they said that about the swans many years ago.

Getting back to the thread - the thing the Matilda's did that the AFLW can't is play a skilful attractive brand of their sport. I know it's hard enough to make fumbling attractive at the best of times but the poor female fumblers game is a dead set low level mess of stumbling, bumbling and of course fumbling at it's worst.

Gilligan and the crew desperately need to do something to lift the standard of the poor devils. If any of my fumbling friends here have any suggestions please email fumblehouse ASAP.

Have to agree with the quality of aflw. I think the long term plan is that it will improve as they attract the best athletes ... now there is a pathway. Already seeing lots of athletes from other sports playing aflw.

The Matilda's however also have a national side, can play around the world and I believe are on better or comparable money so the attraction is there for them to play and not swap.

I'm amazed the aflw is thinking of more teams. Whilst there are some good players there's not enough good players as it is now I think. Let that get strong then expand.

And the AFLW were desperate to entice Sam Kerr over, offered her significantly more than she is on now. Her response to the upteenth time she has been asked (you AFL focused media fanboys need to get a better question) words to the effect of Football lets me play around the world, in world cups and the olympics. AFL can't.

Brilliant

wow, that is pretty poor spin doctoring there, you need to try a bit harder.

As for TV deal, that is the biggest you will ever get, as for football, we keep growing. :)))
