No sprinting in AFL? I debated whether to comment as you obviously no little of AFL other than maybe glimpses on tv and are obviously incapable of knowing when not to comment. ..... no i want comment after giving it some thought.
Mate tell me when you get the oportunity to sprint 90 metres straight in AFL?
I know a lot more about AFL than you seem to know about Rugby League which is fuck all lol..
I also know why you debated with yourself on whether to comment. Because you know I am right.
Lol the length of a league field is how long 100meters & how wide
The length & width of an AFL field is about 180 odd by about 160 meters
The opportunity to sprint is far more likely and far more often then in a game of league.
The average AFL player would easily cover 5 times over the distance a league player would cover.
So as per usual thick shit you have absolutely nfi
LOL the running bounce never gives you the opportunity to make a linebreak to sprint 90 metres with the ball in AFL.
Tell me when one player in AFL can grab the ball and run from one end of the field to the other score on his own?
AFL is simply not that kind of game, never has and never will be. So stop trying to pretend it is lol. =D>

Anyway, what's this arbitrary 90m BS? Is that some sort of meaningful number?

The other thing is there is plenty of sprinting long distances in the AFL, but most of it is from players without the ball who are either moving to space or chasing an opponenet, so the camera doesnt follow the player

lol that is the slowest sprint I have ever seen. I've seen NRL fowards run quicker.
You can see how much the bounce slows the player down. Like I said before linebreaks are not possible in AFL.
well Buddy is 196 cm and over 100kg. How many NRL tries the full length of the field are from front rowers? You may think Buddy slowed down when he bounced the ball, but the defender following him was sprinting full pace and never got near him
The bounce is a pretty stupid rule. Slows down the play.

the idea is to make it more difficult for players with the ball to simply carry it indefinitely so it encourages ball movement, not simply running.
You're also focusing on the player with the ball. What about all the players running after him? Sprinting goes on all game, from numerous players
Also, not many ball sports in the world have a player simply running 90 meters. Hockey, no, Bball, no, Soccer, no, Cricket, no

Look at Marika Koribete at 1:25 or Greg Inglis at 2:10. Nothing in AFL comes close.

Yeah of course. But most oval football codes do. Grid Iron, Rugby and League.
AFL is the only one of those that has a bounce slowing them down.

Well that is the idea, to give the defence a minor advantage. Doesn't mean there's no sprinting. That's what the defender does.
You reckon Jettas sprints were slow?

Thst is the point... making the player bounce the ball adds to the difficulty. But as mentioned, it is the players without the ball that are sprinting that you need to also focus on if asking the questiob about sprints.
