Actually I've gone off to early, The contract is not nearly as bad as first thought. Fox paid $450m not 650m as I first though, in the previous contact . So $1.8B isn't that bad. With international right and expansion still to come during the life of the contract , its looks like yet another gold medal for Rugby League. :thumbleft:

PS Wookie, They are doing away with the u20's. I wonder if the AFL will let us know how much is really in there future fund next report. And last time AFL radio rights were for a lot longer period than the NRLs.

Wish they'd put it all on the table at once like other codes do instead of drip feeding us. Ffs, how hard is it to actually negotiate the whole thing at once eh, other sports seem to be able to do it and if I remember last time, the NZ rights were brought forward so they would align with this current deal.

Wtf?

We are talking another $100-200 million there alone seeing as the last NZ rights were 110 million without the other international rights which got around 20 million a year as well supposedly. Then we still have International Tournaments still to sell, although I'm not sure how the money is split these days seeing as we now have a proper International fed with a CEO putting plans in place now for the RLWC in 2017 plus other tournies yet to be sold.

Then we have the radio rights, they are worth a few million a year at least.

Come on News and NRL, stop pulling the wool over our eyes and just announce what the code is getting.

Fuck your PR war, both the big codes got massive deals, so why continue this stupid farce?

Announce the whole deal at once or don't mention it at all in the first place and do it behind closed doors without the spruiking..
dipshit how old are you & do you have any experience in the real world?
they are signing billion dollar contract that will never be a straight forward process! dealing with a bunch of numpty flogs from Sydney is another thing!

Blah blah blah, it's not good to be drunk at this time of the morning.

Could you point me towards anything in my post that was untruthful, a lie or just plan fanciful please?

Cheers dingbat.

So NRL 1.725 billion with international (sky and games) naming and radio to go.
AFL with 2.508 billion with naming and radio to go?

Is that correct or has naming been included.

Another thing to consider is that the AFL deal starts a year earlier and if you compare both comps over the same 6 year period it is approximately

AFL 2.508 billion compared to NRL 2.18 billion (1.9 + (1.4/5))

So clearly the AFL has much more cash over this time frame in TV money even before you go into the other revenue streams where they have a clear advantage.

It's only shit because of the FTA game taken away and the 6pm Friday game although that needs to be tried before really giving the bullet.

All these games news, 9 and the NRL are playing is giving me a headache. They have options of expansion and TV times they could still do yet that would add money but they didn't bother, why? Is Rupert saving face by making the nrl drip feed what they are getting all up? Why make them wait till 2018 till expansion is on the table when they said that last time, what's going on? Why has Sunday night been left available?

If so, would the old 9 deal with 4 FTA games come back into effect thus pumping the 9 deal back up to 900 million?

See, these are just some of the things they are holding back from everyone.

It's all just absolute bullshit, they are sports, and if one gets more than the other, so be it, but I just can't stand the maze these orgs are willing to make people swim thru just to get some sort of sense as to what is really going on.

Just do the fucking deals, one will be bigger than the other, if it's RL, well done, if not, no one bar a few idiots will care, the same the other way bar I think the AFL fans feel they need to justify themselves to the rest with all their propaganda, it's just a sport. That's why we give it to Victorians, they live thru their sport or club with nothing else mattering as long as they beat their biggest rival, it's pathetic.

That's what I can't understand, the need to have one sports org bundle it all together and have it done all at the same time for a professional approach to be clear what is going on whilst the other hides what it's getting or only mentiuons part of it and nothing of the others sides of the contract drip feeding us for months on end until no one remembers or cares as long as one code was made to look like it had done better than it really had done. As I said, it's just a sport, so stop with the propaganda war please, seems as if they don't want to hurt certain peoples feelings from certain states.

And it ain't the RL states as we have been behind sine the SL war kicked off and took us away from the #1 spot for 25 years.

the propaganda is you fuckwits claiming all the conspiracies about news corp & the media in general!
bad NRLOL news story its classed as lies lies, bad news story about the AFL is all true
good news story about the NRLOL is all true and good news story about the AFL is all lies lies.
nothing but a pack of selective hypocrites and go crying that your sick of people crying propaganda..

BTW fuck off with this SL wars shit! the only reason why the NRLOL are getting a decent sized broadcast deal is because of it. If it never happened the NRLOL would be down there with deals similar to that of the A league and union.

simple fact, why are all other NRLOL governing body revenue streams as well as club revenue streams (outside of pokies) so minnow.
league is the dominant code in QLD & NSW helped largely thanks to the SL wars, yet those states are the 1st and 3rd advertising markets in Australia. yet their league trails last in sponsorship money
AFL excess of $50m
A league $30 million plus
ARU $27 million
NRLOL $25 million

the clubs fan bases are minnow, the crowds & memberships figures are minnow.

be thankful for the SL wars for the pissing contest between packer & murdoch's for broadcasting games in prime time giving league endless promotion through their media outlets

then dipshit, why are all forms of other revenue from the NRLOL pathetic and at the level of the A league and union, why are club memberships and revenue so low?
why do the NRLOL trail all the other major codes in sponsorship figures, when they are the dominate code in the 1st and 3rd biggest advertising market?

packer and murdoch made it into a tv sport by pumping it for a decade in people's faces :thumbleft:
what a pity fans don't care to much to show up to games or buy merchandise, or even many sponsors bother to advertise with the NRLOL

oh thats right its bad NRLOL news. its all lies lies lies! fuckwit

Umm find this Hard to Believe so..

NRL 2billion (5 years

204 games including SOO at 408 hours of Tv time (per year)

AFL 2.5 Billion ( 6 years

207 games at 621 hours of Tv time. (per year)

That is 213 hours more of tv duration..

Well Done NRL
