I do have a thorough knowledge of NRL, Crapper. I live in Redfern, NSW, Rabbitohs heartland, and my ancestors have lived here since 1849. That's 166 years.
I also know what the word "draftee" means.
So, AN ENGLISH LESSON FOR YOU:
A draftee is any one who is drafted or enlisted into a service. It does not imply that a formal enlistment process has been used.
The NRL draft process is a much looser mechanism than the AFL's strictly controlled process, but it is a draft nevertheless.
I hope you enjoyed your English lesson, Crapper. Now you run off now, and have your play lunch.

Mar 12, 2015 - The NRL's attempt to introduce an internal draft fell by the wayside more than two decades ago when it was challenged in court by former NSW and AustÂralia centre Terry Hill..

Bruce's brucey brucey .
I have just shown that you know very little about RL .
Your post shows you are clueless .
You probably live nowhere near Sydney .
Just like the same ones on BF who say they were RL fans converted to Aflol .
Then talk about how many flags

their former RL team won .
See the common thread Bruce .
You are talking about terms or conditions/player systems used in one sport & then use that terminology in another .
So many Lols Bruce .
Try googling the correct info before you post .

There has been no draft for nearly 2 decades ,

Your big noting fumble friend tried to make out he knew plenty about RL .
He got caught out .

Crapper's problem is that its too much of a stretch for him to understand that BY WHATEVER PATHWAY a player arrives on an NRL club's senior list, whether he is signed to a contract, or sucked in through a Slurpee straw, the player is still a draftee. i.e. he is drafted by that club.
And its hurting him like hell that Victoria has been a sterile source of rugby league draftees, while draftees are pouring into the AFL clubs nationwide from NSW/ACT.

In 2014, two talented players were drafted into GWS from NSW/ACT via their academy: Jack Steele and Jeremy Finlayson.
How many young Victorian athletes did the Storm draft in 2014, Crapper ?
Aye?
Are you saying something, Crapper ?
Shout louder ! I can't hear you !

If Crapper doesn't stop arguing about the use of the generic and code-agnostic words "draft" and "draftee", I'll start talking about...
... rugby league UMPIRES ...
... just to really get under his skin.

Good morning, KE.
Yep, they copped a hiding alright.
The game could have gone either way until the end of the third quarter. They were a match for the Pies...
...until a massive hole opened in GWS's defence with injuries to two key backs, Phil Davis and Joel Patfull.
From there, Collingwood were able to run away with the game.

Sorry brucey .
To late to try to deflect .
You were shown up as clueless about RL after claiming you know plenty .
You can try to talk your way out of it .
But I have posted proof ,there is no DRAFT in RL .
You lost .
1 point for being unco .

Victoria is still a sterile source of rugby league talent for NRL clubs. Bugger all find there way onto senior list. Bugger all draftees, or whatever you want to call them.
Meanwhile, NSW/ACT is producing new talent in spades for the AFL.
GWS -and, yes, this thread is about GWS- just last year drafted Jack Steele and Jeremy Finlayson and there are more in the academy pipeline
Two players in one year to one club. Storm have done precious little to develop draftable talent in Victoria.
Maybe they ought to. Then RL may grow in Victoria.

Crapper, you are ABSOLUTELY CORRECT !!!!!
There is NO National Draft or Central Draft in the NRL. Never said there was. So I don't know why you keep on about it.
I have only talked about the paucity of players drafted into NRL clubs from Victoria.
And if you don't like me using the generic and concise verb "drafted" to describe the process of getting a player to sign a contract with an NRL club, I don't care !
So, get used to it, and stop being boring.

In round 23 2012, Mahe Fonua became the first Victorian-born and bred player to play in the NRL when he made his debut for Melbourne Storm. He played his junior career for South East Titans (formerly Berwick Bulldogs) in the Victorian Rugby League.[43][44]

at this rate the NRL might get their second player from Victoria

There is no Senior list in RL ,just as there is no draft ,
Please keep posting ,it's hilarious .
& now you are saying this is a Gws thread .
Lol self Ownage at its best .
