Well this brick wall is talking back. You said the operating profit was the main factor - bullshit of course, but I'le play along. You operating profit for 2014 was 315,710. And after you pay your players (something you need to do) you have about 100m or less than the NRL do, after they pay there players.

So what is it that your trying to get through to me? just the usual But But remarks and stories about what the AFL's done in the past.

Ps. the NRL may have had no money in the bank two years ago but they got almost 100m today!

Just 7 more sleeps to Origin! Wow
Fuck sake you are one thick dude - repeating the same assertion doesn't make you right - answer these simple questions
Did the NRL have futures fund prior to 2014 if so how much
Did the AFL have a futures fund before 2014 if so how much
How much does RL distribute to clubs
How much does the AFL distribute to clubs
Does the AFL spend more than the NRL on grass roots, stadium development, game development and expansion than the NRL
Lastly are both codes non profit??

If you can't answer these questions then we can safely assume you are wrong because you don't want to face the fact your simply and plainly wrong!
1) Yes a sustainability fund , which was established around 2 years ago ? shortly after the commission took office.
2) yes , been around a few years earlier. It has more than the 50m the NRL has in there fund, but not a lot more - at a guess 70m.
3) & 4) A lot less. They have a lot less players also.
5) there different setups, but they spend similar money (the make up is all written down a couple of posts above).
6)Yes, There non profit organisations. They dont operate for gain , however if there operations didn't make money they wouldnt last long.

Hope that helps, anything to help the military, that's my motto.

Why? Both codes are non-for profit. Why are you boasting about a meaningless profit figure? If both codes have met their costs the next most important thing that matters is how they spend their operating surplus

Then you have just acknowledged the point Wookie, Xman and every AFL poster has been trying to make to you. Just because the AFL choose the invest back into the grass roots and structure of the code rather than a bank balance doesn't therefore mean the NRL has now claimed the position as the number one code. The fact the AFL CAN invest in these areas is the point - it doesn't distract from the annual revenue being greater than the NRL, greater attendance (over twice the size of the NRL), the greater membership base (more than 3 times) or the greater sponsorship. Ratings are not the be all and end all and the amount of money banked is only as good as the growth your sport is having - RL is not growing but stagnating!

I said 70m was a guess and I was 19m out

2. 70 million? Another thing youve just pulled from thin air right? The AFLs Future Fund hasnt been added to since 2011 and as at the 2014 Annual Report sits at 89 million. This does not include the Facilities Reserve Fund or the Strategic Reserve. The Annual Report lists $89,884,000 in Reserves in its $136,558,000 equity. Its there in black and white.

5. The amount of money spent is not really similar. 12 million less on game development and state comps and the like (45 million to 33 million). That doesnt include the money the AFL spends on the AFLPA, another 22 million. Throw in the 9.8 million the AFL spent on Gold Coast and GWS from its New Markets funding for expansion purposes....
You get very pissy when you lose an argument :(/ :(/ :(/

I said the figure of 70m was guess , 19m out - big differene. I was asked about your futures fund only . I answered about your future fund only.
I said your future fun was set up a few years earlier than 2013 and it was - I can't understand your gripe there.

I dot sleep with the AFL Annual Report under my pillow like some people, so you will have to excuse any minor infractions on my part.

And once operating costs were removed there wasn't a lot of difference - despite what you say.

Hardly boasting, just replying to a post that said the AFL made more money in 2014 then the NRL - which they did'nt! The truth seems to hurt.

ok, lets give the original comment some context. The AFL made far more revenue than the NRL in 2014, and chose to spend it on grass roots development, expansion, current clubs, and facilities, to better enhance their game

Is that a joke? It might be a bit funnier if you hadn't recorded just 13k in Sydney last night . And Saturday night is much better for ratings than a Sunday arvo game, and last night was far from the Sydney's worst ratings this year.
:blahblah: ratings
Yeah 30k probably showed up to the game in Sydney, therefore again proving the rating system is bullshit

This will be the greatest ever sporting event in Melbourne since they hosted the Olympics. Wow just wow - you can almost smell the liniment.
