A Western Sydney Wanderers fan could face a multi-year ban from attending A-League matches and possible police charges after hitting Sydney FC defender Aaron Calver at the conclusion of the Sydney derby at Pirtek Stadium on Saturday night.
The incident occurred after the final whistle, where Sydney FC claimed a dramatic 4-3 win in a game they led 3-0 before the Wanderers made it back to level terms in the second half, only for Sky Blues substitute Terry Antonis to clinch a winner.
Football's reputation took another hit outside the ground when three individuals were allegedly assaulted by up to 30 men while making their way from Pirtek Stadium and Parramatta train station in an unprovoked attack said to be linked to the match. Two of the men were hospitalised, with one understood to be diagnosed with a broken leg and the other with a broken wrist.
Sources say three men wearing Sydney FC merchandise were punched, kicked and stomped on while on the ground by a large gang of men wearing black t-shirts with the insignia of a Western Sydney Wanderers' supporters group.

Lordy Lordy lordy,

the most fucked up of all the fukked up sporting fans on the planet must go to sooker fans. They are indeed the most mentally deranged on the planet. There are significant numbers of em who pay money not to watch or enjoy the code but primarily to feel safer in numbers, much like the pissweak gazelles on the African savannahs
And then there is a vast significant majority who accept diving and faking injuries as a valid part of the code, they simply accept it as ok
I mean what is wrong with these dipshits? It needs to be medically examined and some kind of antidote/cure developed to help these deranged f wits

Flares spark FFA inquiry: Wanderers in glare
The Australian

A BAD season could get worse for Western Sydney fans as Football Federation Australia is expected to launch an investigation over the igniting of flares during Saturday night’s 4-3 loss to Sydney FC in the derby at Pirtek Stadium.
Not for the first time, an element among the club’s hardcore supporter group, the Red and Black Bloc, let off several flares, one of which was thrown at the Sydney goal during the second half. The Wanderers, down 3-2 at the time, equalised just seconds later when Kerem Bulut scored his second of the match through a blanket of thick smoke, beating Sydney goalkeeper Vedran Janjetovic.
Janjetovic did not appear to make an issue of the situation at the time while Sydney striker Marc Janko, who scored twice, wouldn’t buy into the controversy, preferring instead to praise the Wanderers.
There were also some reports of altercations between the two sets of fans outside the stadium after the game.
FFA would not comment about the incidents yesterday, but The Australian understands they will look into the matter and will call for a report from police. Police and security will pore over CCTV footage in the next couple of days in a bid to identify the culprits.
The head body has a zero-tolerance policy on flares and will probably come down heavily on those responsible. However, it is unlikely the club will face a sanction as FFA has yet to fine clubs over the use of flares.
If identified and prosecuted, those fans will be banned from attending any games for five years.
It is not the first time the club has been in trouble with FFA over fan-related issues.
The Wanderers and Melbourne Victory were handed a suspended deduction of three points after their fans were involved in brawls in the centre of the Melbourne CBD before a match last season. That sanction ended at the end of that season.
A man from Baulkham Hills was charged recently after police found a cachet of 50 marine flares in his car, which was parked near Pirtek Stadium before a Wanderers game against Melbourne Victory early in January. Police subsequently made an application to FFA to have the man banned from all FFA-affiliated matches for five years.

Adult men getting their jollies from lighting flares. It only happens with sooker fans. It's like they never quite surpassed the maturity of a 14 year old who gets his hands on illegal firecrackers. Good fun child's play... But it's grown men we are talking about here folks, grown men.
Is there some kind of institution football australia could develop to lock these douchebags up so that women and children might decide to watch the game? Tho of course the antics of the players diving and grasping their knees after an opposition players pinky brushes their thigh also turns off women by the masses. But an institution for douchebag fans and players alike would be a great investment by ffa don't yas think? A coupla dozen thousand straighjackets, copious sedative drugs, some torture chambers, and electric chairs for those who need a return visit would make sooker a much more marketable product for fans to attend.
Porkchop? Sydfc? It's a no brainer right?
