Yeah and 48k is the record for Test match RL over there, NZ are hosting the final this year, they look to have booked themselves a finals birth, you reckon they can beat the phoenix again? :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/ :(/

i'd hope so! if it doesn't beat the 35k that attended new zealand vs bahrain last year at westpac then there are some serious issues

Depends where they play the final, if at a stadium with a capacity higher, they will, if not, no.

Doesn't mean anything in the long run, they have 17k turn up in a stadium today against Samoa which had a capacity of 18,500 and in a town of just over 50,000, they've done good already.

Tomorrows game in Melbourne I have no idea, haven't heard much about it to be honest.

nearly 90k watched perth vs newcastle on fox(a lot better than i thought it would be, in previous years this would of rated in the low 50s at best)

what was the rl ratings for nz samoa?

if they're not in the 400-500k range then that would be an utter embarrassment

Good on them, someone wins someone loses, happy to see an aussie side on the world stage do well.

I do wonder if we being aus would have to be one of the only countries not going off about winning something like this, I suppose it just reinforces where each sport is in the nation esp when you compare club games. The Socceroos will rate during wc's and big tournaments but that's only every few years if they are performing. If they are not performing, no one really takes notice. We know they are there, we have a bit of a crack yet at the same time we all know they'll dust themselves off and try again later on.

It's probably the only sport (football code) most aus people can get behind and support without as much of the bs that goes on with the other codes. Yet if it's not at the absolute top (being the National team) it's just another game of soccer.
