Haha can't wait till the next Television negotiations.

Re: What is the more popular sport in Melbourne, Victoria?
Why would I give a stuff about Manly and Easts, two of the smaller clubs in the NRL support wise that I really don't particularly like anyway?
They are having their time at the top of the ladder and getting shown on channel 9, good for them and their small bunch of fans. That's what the other clubs are aspiring to do I would think, win games and get their name out there in the public as much as possible to try and grow that name even more. Nothing at all wrong with that. It's no ones fault that other teams are more popular, just bad luck.
When the other teams start winning more and getting shown on FTA, the ratings will change again I would assume depending on what teams are performing. Some teams will get lots of support, and others will not.
That's just the way it is.
If a WA or SA team was shown on Friday night in the AFL week after week because they were the best side, don't you think ratings would go down a bit in Melbourne? What about if the Suns or GWS were on every Friday night, ratings hold up for long you reckon? What about the smaller Vic clubs like NM, WB and Melbourne getting the prime Friday slot each week, would the ratings grow, or do you think they would go backwards? If collingwood was at the bottom and NM at the top being shown each Friday night, do you think the Vic ratings would be as high as they would when collingwood were up there?
Swings and roundabouts.
