So what AFL has played games in NZ, London, Sth Africa, Canada, USA and Japan but we don't claim it as an international comp - those games are nothing more than exhibition matches for points there is NO National RL!!!!
Excuse me, but until last year the AFL never played any matches for premiership points outside of Australia. So such an effort is not relevant. And yet in Great Britain there is a club competition that is nearly the equal of the NRL.

So let's go back to what constitutes "national" and then accept that NRL has home bases in three states and one territory and the AFL has home bases in five states and no territories. This is close enough to equal. Going further is arguing semantics. They are either both national, or neither is national.

No cracker I won't agree with that assessment teams playing a home match in a territory like NT/Act or another state is not the same as their home ground - it is an exhibition match in reality - but per capita AFL has got every populous state covered on a permenant basis - just saying we play there once or twice a year is not significant enough to say we represent that region - AFL is a National competition - NRL is an eastern seaboard competition denying that is denying the existence of the sun!!!

So much stupid in One post..
I love how the fact that AFL has an international profile on a par with Cheese rolling really eats at you simpletons..
It gets you so bad you resort to lying..

Exhibit #1.
The ONLY GAME that has been played for points outside AUS was the game in NZ last yr..(& by the looks of this yrs non sales it will be a dead duck soon)...Cos will be on Suicide watch..

Exhibit #2,
An international comp has to have some competition for the home country to play..so you cant claim an exhibition game as INTERNATIONAL.Poor Cos will be in the fetal position.

:))) :))) :))) :))) :))) :)))

And where does it say the host nation has to play - the Olympics are often held in Nations who didn't even compete in a particular sport until the host was awarded the games

The nrl is an east coast league with representation in three states and one territory all on the east coast.- not national.
The AFL has representation in all states, one territory with second tier competitions in all states and mainland territories. - national.

So name the AFL teams that are based in Tasmania, the ACT and the Northern Territory.

This is the reality. You have to compare oranges with oranges, not oranges with apples. If you are going to call the NRL an eastern seaboard competition you have to call the AFL a non territorial mainland competition.
