Expanding in what, viewers, money or area covered? Because youre wrong on all fronts. Seem to recall more people watching the NRL GF in melbourne than AFL GF in sydney, neither cities had teams in the other GF and that's DESPITE sydney having an extra 0.7 million people.

Next would obviously be New Zealand, we set up a team there and we are playing NRL nines early next year. Cool 2 million prize money, and also the RLWC which will help expand the game primarily in England but also other nations.

And we will expand to Perth and/or consolidate QLD.

You should have expanded to Perth long ago and what about Adelaide? And there should have been a second team in Brisbane long ago as well. How long has the AFL had two teams in Adelaide and Perth??

Don't use the GF as a comparison. You have to look at the season as a whole, and that's where in viewers, money and area is failing due to lack of expansion. The RLWC will do nothing because of the stupid rules that Swans pointed out. There are players who were not born in Australia or New Zealand playing for those countries, and not their true country of origin - largely in the Pacific islands. It's like NSW v Queensland before SOO was introduced, it was always NSW. It was the same in AFL. Before SOO Victoria dominated both SA and WA.

Face it. Expansion as you describe it is not expansion at all. There's no blood and guts about it like there is with the aggressive AFL. No risk taking. Those who don't take risks against those who do are the long term losers.

No they are NOT! that's only in countries like Italy and the USA. England has NO aussie, neither does NZ, I doubt Fiji has many, same with most islands like PNG, Samoa and Tonga. Maybe a couple, but how does that invalidate the expansion of international league? Oh right, cause again NRL expansion is impossible in your eyes and you will just ignore anything that says otherwise.

Oh.. I forgot to check on with the Canberra resident who knows all there is to know about the Gold Coast given he lives in Canberra lol. Crowds, almost the same, membership ... Suns more but every child registered with an ar club gets a 3 game membership .. So will say the same, media... Pretty much the same in print, tv, and radio . Every suns game televised though and also in commercial radio . Interest from community ... Would still give this to nrl in general rather than specifically titans, but as I said suns are evening up.

But do tell re: how it is viewed from Canberra lol as I'm sure you get the local news and media, associate with large amounts of differing people each day, visit local areas each day and visit local schools regularly. Yes, your knowledge of the local area and community is far superior than that of someone who lives there and associates with a broad cross section of the community. Maybe I should comment on Canberra and how things are going on the ground and on the community as I would know more than someone like Dave right ??? I mean he is in an nrl bubble or something like that lol .... But that would be silly right lol.

pHyR3.....the point is we continually hear RL supporters tell us that RL is the national code yet in 3 states there is no representation, there is one team in Victoria - now you can't call yourself national when it's only two states involved - it makes a mockery of international competition - the same applies for the WC when 120 players are representing countries - now Australia didn't take 60 players to the WC - many of the players representing other countries have never been to those countries and are there because their parents did - it's not a true international comp it's an expanded SOO - if AF did the same no AFL fan would see that as international growth in their sport just shuffling deck chairs to make it have the appearance of something it's not. If they had strict entry for sides it may be really only 5 countries Australia, NZ, England, France and PNG - I would have far more interest in that than some manipulated WC. That's always been my point.

NT is represented in the NEAFL, Tas have state sides in Amos inter league, teal cup, but are next cab off the rank for inclusion in the AFL at next expansion. But not yet in AFL.

there are a few games up in NT every year, as for Tasmania, North Melbourne & Hawthorn both play several home games down there every year. The Tasmanian government did try and lobby the AFL a few years ago for a team, but the AFL's decision was that there it wasn't financially viable at the time & low population is vastly spread out
