What is the biggest rating sports event ever on tv in aus? I think it was Cathy freeman running to 400 at Sydney Olympics. According to Dave this would make athletics the biggest sport in the country that year lol

How about your the official NRL quote I showed above which describes $80 tickets? Are you saying you could get into your gf for $40 last year ?

$80 for an adult ticket is a pretty hefty price! :_<>

that'd be still too much for you to afford ..... ya know ,seeing as yr from the poorest group of club supporters supporting the poorest club there is :(/ :(/ :_<> :_<>

Give Port Adelaide a stadium deal like the WA teams have and we'd be millions better off financially. Port avg crowd 27k, Canberra arse Raiders 10k with the smallest football budget of all (and still can't make a profit from it). Why are the Raiders so small? Shit sport, or too expensive for Canberrians to attend?

Correction : it's too expensive for those who follow nrl in Canberra to attend. Those who are educated and earn the good money follow union or AFL Stewie.

Apparently there are still tickets available less than 2 days out! :(/ what a pathetic bunch of losers these NRL fans are, not even enough interested to fill an 84k stadium in their biggest game of the year.

These are two Sydney teams - if it was two Melb teams in GF it would only take 1 day to sell out - RL GF has been on sale for a month and still have empty seats this is really embarrassing!

My point was around marquee events ... They will always attract an extra large tv audience. Grand finals, Olympics, soo, World Cup qualifiers etc etc. anyway AFL grand final beat the nrl grand final last year

I mean the equivalent teams in Melb for the 2 Sydney sides playin tomorrow would be
North Melbourne V the Western Bulldogs

our 2 smallest & theres
theres with these sides playin...
well it wouldn't sellout ....
&
probably wouldn't get to 3 Million in the ratings nationally

ours ... will be sold out later today im hearing ... something like just 60 tickets remain unsold in the 84,000 seat ANZ stadium & with a 75% increase on average for tickets
that's a pretty fair effort for 2 tiny Sydney NRL clubs

plus it will rate higher then the VFL GF  taking 4th spot for the biggest sporting events in Oz in 2013 forcing the fumbles n bumbles out to

5th
wow

just wow
