This yr 2000 research into RL participation for adults shows 90% comes from NSW/QLD, ACT. And NT have about a thousand people each, or less, and the other states don't even register a player on the graph!

Wow, Melbourne just hates that poor man's rugby hey. I suppose they just prefer real sports like football and even union

Little wonder they're known as the sporting capital of the world when sports like lacrosse are more popular than rugby league :(/ :(/ :(/
RL has had about 2300 people take it up & sign with clubs .. in 14 years in Melbourne with barely a cent spent to achieve this number
VFL has had about 5000 do the same in Sydney .... in 31 years ... at a cost of 500 Million dollars

wow
Sydneysiders don't think much of the Victorian game ... do they ? :-k

So wait 10 RL clubs have 260 players each on average. Thats roughly 18-20 sides per club. I call BS.
and .... 66 Vicky Kicky Clubs in Sydney .. so say 10 sides per club minimum... so 660 sides , have less then 10,000 players in Sydney

15 players a side .... :-k

thats not even worthy of BS... its ridiculous ..

Fine, excluding school sports, where students have little choice, RL in Vic is 2600 and AFL in NSW is 70,000 =D>

70,000.....

42,000 are ausfudgers .... who also have .. LITTLE OR NO CHOICE ..
I mean they don't even play a game ... its a series of training drills .. its free as far as I know as well , no commitment at all from the participants.

what a crock
no its

the registered club numbers ... & thats it , nothing else matters

28K for Vicky Kicky in NSW .... of which 20K existed anyway in 1982
8K new players in all of NSW /ACT ... about 5K of these in Sydney .. in 31 years .. at a cost of 500 Million plus dollars to the VFL

RL in Melbourne , had about 300 odd club players all up in 1998
nows its 2600 ... 2300 new players at a cost of nothing to the NRL/ARL .. in 14 years

gee .... I wonder who thinks they got value in that lot

Umm no, AusKick is not free and yes they do play football "scratch matches", just go to any football game and what do you see them doing at half time?

Any proof of the 300 rl players in Melbourne in 1998?

I know , I've been at the schools who are bribed to host these clinics .. & what goes on in them
its a massive sham ...

easy ... you just note out the % increase for todays playing numbers from 1998's & you get the starting figure
I know that'd be too hard for you to work out though
as my cat is smarter then you

   Rich coming from the guy who thought a 300% increase from 90,000 was 260,000.

Where is this % increase of playing numbers since 1998 you speak of?

NEWS Ltd last night promised to keep the Melbourne Storm going, despite having already committed a massive $66 million during the period of the salary cap rort.

During the five years since the start of the $1.7 million rort, News Ltd, publisher of the Herald Sun, injected a total of $65.9 million into the NRL outpost.

The figures are tallied in the Storm's annual reports between 2005 and 2009

The irony of you using 'then' instead of 'than' in a sentence criticising someone else's intelligence is delicious.
