SO without even being punished yet they have lost draft picks for 2012 and one of their best players which the salary cap breaches involved. Theyll probably cop more draft sanctions and a hefty fine. All this for foul play involving one player.

Compare that to the Storm that cheated for a number of seasons in a row and involved a large proportion of their playing list. They were hit retrospectively which did nothing to stop them succeeding in the short to medium term.

I think youve got this around the wrong way somehow Dave. WHy am I not surprised? #-o

Storm .. an anvil dropped on them ... & it took just 3 days

Budgies ..... still no resolution after a month .... & still only to be thrashed with a feather .. when its all ova

VFL ... laughing stock of australian sport

Deloitte was appointed by News Limited to conduct a forensic examination of the club’s financial affairs on 22 April, 2010. A team of 5 investigators from Deloitte began work at the club’s premises the next day. The investigation was concluded on 6 July 2010.

That's a lot more than 3 days there Dave. In fact its a lot more than the month or so the AFL have been investigating the crows breaches.

In fact my previous quote described an independent report into the cheaters behaviour.

After all our RL members have been complaining that the AFL are stalling or going easy on the crows by taking a month to investigate the matter we have this:
After a year-long investigation into the Storm, supported by clear admissions from the Club Chairman and Chief Executive, the NRL had sufficient information on which to base a penalty in April 2010 – indeed given what we knew at that time there was no other option.
http://www.nrl.com/final-report-storm-s ... fault.aspx

So the NRL knew of a potential issue with the storm and salary cap breaches, but took a year to investigate it. In that time the Storm won a Premiership with this illegal team!!!!

And here we have NRL supporters claiming the AFL are a farce by allowing the crows to participate in the draft after the investigation has only been going for a month!

Hows "3days" working for you Dave?

Where's KE and his claim his RL mates are doing so well?

The AFL only found out about the Tippett issue within the last month. They are currently investigating the matter yet the Crows have already suffered a penalty and if guilty will suffer more. Once the investigation is complete the Crows will be punished if found guilty.

Meanwhile the NRL took a year to investigate and punish the Storm. In that time the storm won a premiership, which they were then forced to take back again. Pity the rest of the competition that were denied a decent premiership chance.

Its staggering youre even defending the NRL and your pathetic criticism of the AFLs handling of the crows, which leaves the NRL for dead. #-o #-o #-o

ADELAIDE is preparing to be "belted" by the AFL next Friday, despite trying to soften the blow by surrendering two key picks at this year's national draft.

The kid Crows missed as punishment
Gold boast! Premiership by 2015
A mighty Saint with a heart of class

The embattled Crows held a board meeting while the draft was unfolding on Thursday night.

It was held to examine the "what-if" scenarios of next week's AFL Commission hearing into alleged salary cap rorting and draft tampering involving Kurt Tippett.

And while Adelaide hopes for some leniency after "a gesture of goodwill" in giving up picks 20 and 54 at the Gold Coast draft, it is of the belief the league will still come down on the club like a tonne of bricks.

This could include the loss of key picks in at least the next two and possibly three national drafts, a massive half-a-million dollar fine and chief executive Steven Trigg and football operations manager Phil Harper being asked to step down.

If applied, the penalty would be the biggest dished out by the AFL since Carlton was stung with fines of almost $1 million and stripped of key draft picks for two years in 2002.

Players, including high profile players, were given back door deals. They had their own "special contracts" and a different "official" contract. They were therefore paid outside the salary cap and were therefore guilty.
Storm officials confessed on 22 April 2010 that the club had committed serious and systematic breaches of the salary cap for the last five years by running a well-organized dual contract and bookkeeping system which left the NRL ignorant of $3.78 million in payments made to players outside of the salary cap, including $303,000 in 2006, $459,000 in 2007, $957,000 in 2008, $1.021 million in 2009 and $1.04 million in 2010.

And all of those players are no longer with the Storm.

And yet who won the premiership in 2012?

You lose.

It's been revealed that the breach was given to a number of current players and former players. Some of the current players are big names - Greg Inglis, Billy Slater, Cooper Cronk and Cameron Smith.

Inglis is gone - he's a Bunny now. Slater nearly went as well. He only stayed because he was prepared to for a massive cut and good for him. Cronk and Smith weren't big at the time (that report was wrong). Of course they're great now with Smith as our captain.

Get it right next time.

You named four only. We cast off more than that, and only one big name (at the time) stayed.

So I was not wrong. You were.

I showed evidence that Cronk, Slater, and Smith were involved in the rort.

How wrong can you be????

I was telling the truth. Cronk and Smith didn't know what was happening. Slater might have and that's why he wanted to leave because he was high profile. At the time Cronk and Smith weren't. You didn't name anyone who did leave apart from Inglis.

Face it. All you want to do is argue and rely on inaccurate media reports biased against the Storm, or rather against News Limited. The link you gave was to the ABC. They are a natural enemy to News Limited.

All I claimed was players were given back door deals, including high profile players. How did they not know about the rorting if they were given two contracts, 1 legitimate and 1 illegitimate?

You claimed these players had since left. I showed they hadn't.

How the hell does that make you right in any way?

I never specified names as to who left. I said those who got the benefits and knew about it have left. Inglis definitely knew. Cronk and Smith did not. Slater may have.

Im sorry, but when you sign two playing contracts with one being totally different to the other, you "know"
