Now we are being told that the biggest footy crowd of the year in NSW will be this upcoming vFL match, good luck getting over 80k.

Probably be around 35,000/40,000.

so the Swans are going to sell out ANZ are they? Sydney NRL teams struggle for 20k in a local derby. Isnt Sydney RL heartland?

SOO got 54k. Is that Home and away RL? big deal. Home and away AFL has already had 17 crowds of more than 54k this year. And thats regular season games, not stand alone events.

Why cant you just accept that you guys talked this thing up all you could but the game ended up being a stinker......

What are you on about. The game was close all day and the result was decided by less than a kick. The atmosphere was amazing. Shame the NRL never get atmosphere like that hey?

I think what you really have to come to grips with Xman is that Sydney is a very multicultural City, we accept most things that come our way.

Does not look good on you Victorians who have a champion team for countless years yet fail to support them, how does that look on you Vic's??

Brand new stadium, arguably the best Half, Dummy, Fullback in RL and piss poor support.......

Its a blight on RL not Melbourne. Melbournes A league and AFL teams are the best attended in their leagues. Melbourne support tennis, motot racing, horse racing, cricket and golf in greater numbers than any other Australian city.

We love sport, except for crap ones like RL.

Yes you like sport no doubting that one from you VICS.....we constantly here about how great your crowds are but with a unemployment rate of 5.8% the largest in the country i say Get a job..... .

You Vics can keep your crowds stats and Sporting capital status, us guys in NSW will keep the Cold hard cash and the Cold hard beerssssssss....

Sunday Arvo up against city to surf with grey clouds in the sky all day with the lame weather that has been in Sydney this weekend, against a team who have lost 3 on the trott and expected to get beaten, with no media hype. If Brisbane had of won the last 3 games this game would have pushed 30k

The above statement was used on LU to explain why their biggest club who are on top of the ladder couldnt even get 20k to a game this afternoon!

Swans crowd was fantastic in the circumstances. Weather was atrocious on the Friday and Saturday leading up to and during the game. To attract a crowd of 46k is truly amazing and shows the dedication of AFL fans. Great game and electric atmosphere. Shame about the result.
