Ahh Xman =D> There's a clever boy!

Yes folks make mistakes and the bloke who posted the figures on that wikipedia cite i referred to should be punished for his mistake.

Me? Well I make mistakes also and always acknowledge them, it was a mistake citing this wikipedia cite which provided misleading info. Yes it was.

But lets get back on track here. 2005 and 2006 is alls you've got Xman? Is that alls you've got on this one? Cause if thats alls you've got then I think we can answer the question to which code is consistently loved by more aussie families on its grandest level quite easily now cant we?

Yes its Rugby LEague folks, consistently loved to bits by more aussie families on its grandest stage. SOO two is just around the corner as is Xman, cringing in one.

Game 2 a 80+ tickets already sold, ANZ adding seats in to accommodate a bumper crowd, Xman you should watch this game its going to be a cracker.... :D

This is what Dan26 said the total ratings were on BF in 2005.

2005 AFL Grand Final: Sydney vs West Coast
Sydney: 991,000 (peak 1,230,000)
Perth: 514,000 (peak 570,000)
Melbourne: 1,230,000 (peak 1,367,000)
Adelaide: 314,000 (peak 406,000)
Brisbane: 342,000 (peak 425,000)
NNSW: 239,000
SNSW: 230,000
Reg.Qld: 177,000
Reg.Vic: 264,000
Tas: 148,000

Total Average audience: 4,449,000

Total Peak audience: 5,250,000

The official peak audience is unknown, but the 5-capital cities averaged 3,391,000 and peaked at 3,998,000 (average was 85% of the peak), so the total audience with regionals avergaing 4,449,000, should peak at 5,250,000.

Not sure where he got his information from but it looks about right to me.
That is were i got my ratings for 05 also Pies, question is were did he get his information? I believe these ratings are close to accurate but you can never be sure, especially on a site like BF.

Love the smiley faces Parra they are always a sign of a quality poster. The more insane a poster goes the more smiley faces you begin to see. Spitzer at the moment is producing a lot of smiley faces. I also love the way you write vFL reminds me a bit of AFL trolls when they write nRL. Obviously you put a lot of thought into an original troll attempt like that one. Your better then that, give me some real grief, insult my family tell me in typical DocBrown style to throw myself in front of a train. Im not feeling the passion.

Agree 100% with what you are saying. The source is not good. I needed to get his source but I couldn't find it in the 5 minutes I spent looking. Ive had a few sources confirm the 3.3 million metro rating so you would guess that nation wide figure should be above 4.1 million. I can see the AFL figure being beaten by either SOO or a Sydney swans AFL GF in the next few years.

Yeah i think if SOO game 3 is not a dead rubber then i think it will get close to 4.1m but want touch 2005 final. And if the Swans make the GF it could get up past 4m again. I don't see the 2005 final being beat for quite some time tbh even by SOO, maybe 5 years down the track but who knows.

We can. The AFL has the highest and second highest of all ratings for both codes, despite not being shown in prime time.

By the way, please show us the source for the ratings list you posted. I'd suggest it was a correct list with all figures being metro only ratings, and you just added the SOO figure in yourself. So no, don't blame the source. Blame your own stupidity. I am!

NRL 3 origins and a GF = 12m + , AFL 1 GF = 3.5m ....Wow! quiet a difference there.

The 12 m is bs because if one is a dead rubber it will be more like 10m.

But, yes, the NRl have 4 big drawing games. The entire AFLs season beats the entire NRL season which makes up for it.

I'm not to blame at all. Although I do take some responsibility as the man who posted it in here.

Xman, two games is alls you've got?

And they dont even involve teams from your heartland?

Everyone knows sydneysiders are fickle and will support in numbers when they see something with the name of their city in the title as potentially winning. Guess you'll just have to wait till, as pies said, sydney reaches another GF for the same result again eh Xman?

SOO RL though? Well it's exactly as I've said. Consistently loved to bits by more australian families on its grandest stage than marngrook is on its grandest stage. Them's the facts dear Xman, and there's nothing you can do to disprove it my friend.

So the eagles aren't from ARs heartland now?

Again you're wrong. The AFL consistently beats every RL game including SOO, which only wins on the odd occasion.

Won last year, when else have they won? They won't win this year if the eagles, crows or swans make the GF.

Imagine if the AFL GF was in prime time! :D

Add to that the AFL is dominating FTA and payTV ratings this year. But let's not mention crowds shall we.
