Well that would be soccer, but we all not fussed about soccer are we.
Then there's RU, with quite respectable WCs ,tests and international competition.
RU is a liitle short when it comes to top line competition.
RU absolutely kills it's little mutant offspring and international rl seems to be going downhill compared to it's historical highs. Doing that attendance search I was genuinely surprised at how small the rl crowds had become.
As for AF, coming from virtually nowhere 20 years ago, expanding at an ever increasing rate and with most countries growing in unison providing for balanced competition.ATM AF has three large growth areas all adajecent to Australia with the world's largest countries about to come online.
You can skyte about rl relative to AF ATM but for how long ? rl seems to be going nowhere.

Fair points here cos. But you do overrate AF in the international setting. It's not gunna get big in our lifetime and its best for us all to just acknowledge this rather than be disappointed on our deathbeds, dont you think?

Some already big numbers coming out so it really is determined by what you call big.

I'm using international RL as my reference to big. RL has international players rolling through a revolving door in the NRL, the most elite competition, and has so for a long time. The AFL have very few coming in in dribs and drabs it seems. Sure there is improvement, but there is little established AR culture outside aus. It's still very new, of a very low standard, and with very few local participants, in comparison to RL. So I see it as 'not big'

You talk about AR numbers o/s as though im in denial. Umm at best they have 100,000 right? Four times less RL participants o/s. Add to that RL having professional competitions running o/s and its game set and match.
