At least I have a consistent involvement in the game since I was 12. Are you going to claim that?

At the end of the year we could tally all the BS points and see who the biggest BS artist is! We could even tally the overall AFL and NRL fans' points and see which side BS the most. Furthermore, we could tally the number of successful claims and work out the 'best and smartest' of us all.
This sounds great the more I think about it. Who will keep count?

Im glad you like it.

NSWAFL deserves the credit.

I'm happy to keep count.

Could we sticky a thread on TFC which only you and I can post in? We could then make an entry whenever someone makes a claim that is challenged. The claims would ideally need to be things that could actually be proven, not like whether king has played ARs. Not some of the subjective things like which is the best game. Things that are clearly measurable.

We could then make a new thread dedicated to that particular claim. Once the claim has been proven or disproved the thread would be locked and the claimed awarded a BS point or a 'best and Smartest' point depending on the result. Issues that are not clearly resolved either way would receive an 'undecided' result.

A time frame would be best, say 2 days, to prove your point.

Making the final decision would be tricky. Some issues would be very clear cut. Others not so. I'm happy to resolve the close ones as impartially as I can but would prefer a RL fan member to help keep it less subjective.

Posts off topic would be instantly deleted, unless they are simple taunts. But any attempt to swap to a 'but the Tv ratings' or 'the crowds....' should be deleted.

Any other suggestions guys?

You can sticky threads can't you?

I like the prospect of seeing at the end of the season which side has the most BS points. I'm confident it will be RL with all the unsubstantiated rubbish that gets posted by that lot.

How about enarelle from the RL side? Seems reasonable most of the time (although is prone to posting some absolute dribble regarding tv ratings). Or perhaps cooee?

Just on the locking of threads, how could one ever bump them if new evidence came to hand? Not sure how keen we would all be to see so many threads locked when you enter TFC. New thread perhaps if new evidence comes to hand??? I really don't know about that one. What do others think?

And how about a name for the medal at seasons end?

Oh and cheers for the suggestion NSWAFL.

I don't think I can sticky threads. I've had a look.

I haven't seen much of enarrelle lately, but the suggestion is ok. Or cooed. I'd suggest we would confer by pm before a decision is made either way. If we can't decide it's an 'undecided' result.

If new evidence comes to light after a decision is made I would think its too late for that BS point. The claimer needs to make their claim and be prepared to prove it at the time. If they claimed something without evidence at hand they were BSing then anyway. If in the future they do come up with new evidence they can make a new claim (and risk a second bs point on the same topic  )

I'm thinking in fairness that two days is a little short. Some of us work and don't always have the information at our disposal. For myself I have a better chance over a weekend, although it depends on what I'm doing and where. I'm thinking maybe seven days.

For the name of the medals - the BS winner could perhaps be a double name (ie Border/Gavaskar) to recognise both codes. For instance, how about the Cousins/Johns medal? Or for being a loudmouth in commentary Hunt/Mossop? We could throw a few names of BS artists from both codes around, but they would have to have been guilty of something similar to go together.

If we have one for the best and smartest point, we would need a double name consisting of two men who are genuine legends of their respective codes and have the respect of fans in the other code. With his recent passing I nominate Artie Beetson from the NRL side. With the AFL side I don't know who the NRL boys would respect amongst our legends, although I could throw a few names around and just get a reaction. Whitten, Dyer, Richards, Baldock, Jeans to name a few. Or we could go with a fellow Aborigine to go with Artie. Maurice Rioli passed away not that long ago.

Ok, but have a bs and genius points thing under your username just like we have rookie, coach and whatever after that.

That'll prove the men from the boys.
