Brisbane is rl territory - you’d expect it get get more viewers ? I couldn’t imagine the Storm gf getting more viewers in Victoria than any AFL gf - regardless of who was playing - makes sense.

The 2024 AFLW season was the highest streamed of all time across Foxtel Group platforms Kayo Sports, Foxtel Go, Foxtel Now and BINGE, up 61% year-on-year. Across the season, 179 million minutes were streamed.

Fox Footy General Manager Michael Neill said: “How fantastic is it to see this sort of growth for women’s sport? I’m thrilled our coverage, and the competition, has been received really well by fans. It shows that our partnership with the AFL, and our commitment to grow women’s sport is working. Congratulations to the AFLW, and the North Melbourne Kangaroos, on what was an incredible season.”

Dillon confirmed that the unpopular compacted AFLW season in which 11 matches were played in 10 weeks and games played mid-week on short breaks had been too much and the season this year would begin earlier.

What's with all the Matilda's hype .
They failed, epic fail on the World stage against legitimate competition.

Is it just me ?
The crowds a Matilda's matches seem to be mainly hysterical 14. and 15 year old girls, the same ones you see a Taylor Swift concerts.
Does anybody else who is not a teen actually care about the Matildas ?
Bring back the Bears.

Still attracting great crowds all over the country. I think the tv ratings may have declined? Still very good and respectable.
