If the nRL took the AFL approach and set these teams up with shit lists initially that would turn into brilliant lists within 5 years,
Thanks Stewie :) And herein lies one of the fundamental boobbrained assumptions made by the big fatboys down at AFL HQ. And doesnt the majority of AFL fans believe it

You guys wonder why we call you dumb? Confused buffoons? Talk to stewie, he knows the answer now

...Like its easy to develop a "brilliant list"/professional footy team #-o

Hmmm
perth reds first game in 1995 V St George ( regular finalists )
Perth wins 28-16

they go on to win another 23 games from 61 played all up 1995 to 1998

adelaide rams won 13 out of 42 games played .....1997 & 1998

now lets look at the thuns
they've played 47 games of vicky kicky so far ... & won...... 7

the Midgets have played 25 games ... & won 3

As Adelaide and Perth don't give a shit about that lame pommy game, crowds and interest would reach new lows. Of course the nRL could take the Storm approach and find private owners for these clubs to make sure they finish top 4 every year just so the interest is there, leaving old teams like Parramatta on the bottom.

If the nRL take the AFL approach and set their lists up for the future, so short term pain with long term gain, these new teams would win sweet fuck all as well.

our track record of new sides being strong from day 1 is there for all to see
your assumption
that any new sides of ours in an expansion market will fail as miserably as the 2 latest VFL sides have
has no foundation based on the NRL's constantly proven ability to field strong sides regardless of where they are from .....

the VFL's attempts at new sides in expansion markets have been woeful
the swines & brisbane teddy bears in the 80's are further proof of its inability to get it right

& one can't use the excuse of look at em now either

we all know the only reason these teams have had any success either in the past or in the present
is the rampant manipulation & rigging of the salary cap & draft

in 2018 when we field our next team in an expansion market ... Perth
this side will compete for the finals ... in 2018
& it won't be because the NRL will allow it to spend more then any other team , or have unfair access to the available talent

it will be because our code has a far deeper talent pool , far more effective development paths & professional comps in NZ , England & France to draw on

Because the nRL have never taken the AFL approach dick head. The AFL's expansion to Sydney started off slow with the Swans not gaining sustainable support until the mid 1990's when they had on field success. Compare this to say the Titans, who had some on field success straight away and a few years later found themselves behind the Suns in crowds and in $30 million debt. Straight up success is not a good thing, the fans will jump off so quickly once the teams stops performing like they will with WSW in a few years.

Why is there no such animosity toward rl in Melbourne or Perth or Adelaide etc?? I wondering it is either one of two things ... Nrl people see AFL ad a threat ... Or AFL are seen as arrogant and a chip on their shoulder ?? Maybe a bit if both I think.

They have never been anything but a long term investment, dumb fuck. If you recall the AFL themselves said the initial years would be hard just like the Swans first decade and a bit was in Sydney. Look where the Swans are now, the biggest team in NSW. They are the perfect example of the long term investment that the Giants and Suns are now.

So the Swans being the most popular team in NSW isn't a success, yet the Storm being smaller than every AFL club and the union club is a success? :-k

This is what we're dealing with folks. How many times was Raiderdave thrown against the wall by his mum when she was on crack? Gotta feel sorry for him a bit, he never had a chance.
