Sorry, its 5 that are shown live.

Your pathetic but but excuses about Perth. It seems when there delayed , and shown on 7 you've got but but excuses. And when there shown live on 7mate you've got other but but excuses.

One little piggy said its too hot and one little piggy said its too cold while the little piggy named Andrew slipped out the back door with his crowds and ratings tumbling down all around him
The Perth issue is relevant either way. They used to get the game on 3 hrs delay. Now they get the game live but almost 2 hrs before prime time when people are still at work. Its just an issue with the time zone differences between two of the AFLs heartlands. The NRL don't face this because they're heartland is limited to one time zone.

I have to admit, the AFL ratings have been seriously week this year.

Perth games on 7mate isn't helping the cause, in fact. Tonight's game with freo and gold coast is on 7mate?? that would rate much higher then some spiderman re-run
Wasn'nt nearly all Perth games shown on 7 mate lat year? I can recall you got record ratings in Perth , and they were shown on 7 mate.

face it, people are stating to realize that watching the grass grow is far more exciting.

If you're making a comparison to last year at least allow for important differences

Not sure if this will happen all year, but it looks like ch9 are now separating prematch ratings from their match ratings for the NRL. This means their 2 hr telecast last year has been split and is probably down to 100 minutes, making higher averages.

So any increase in the NRLs ratings will need to be taken with a grain of salt

16 FRIDAY NIGHT NRL LIVE -PRE MATCH Network 9 472,000 271,000 201,000

I never said it was disgraceful. This is done by the networks, not the codes. I merely pointed out its a change from last year that will artificially boost ratings in comparison

Now the NRL ratings will be averaged over around 100 minutes compared to the AFLs 140 minutes.

As I've said, many times before, I cant help it if you have a very long winded, boring drawn out game. Your always bragging about the length of your game when it works as a positive.

You'd have to be pretty stupid not to realise a longer telecast hurts ratings. Why do you think the networks are splitting the programs into smaller segments? To decrease ratings?

The only benefit a longer telecast achieves is for the network because it increases the time they can show ads. This is one of the reasons the AFL achieved a higher media deal.

Actually outside of finals, Seven dont do it with AFL telecasts at all.
I think you'll find they do. I asked mediaweek on twitter and they said they do
