168k in Perth at 6pm kick off (this is a record) On the back of Bears announcement into Perth
This is also higher than any Fremantle or West Coast Game or AFL this season in PERTH

316k in Melbourne

This is why i believe Perth has more Potential and faster building for NRL team than STORM in Melbourne

I think if they move the AFL to the main channel it would get higher ratings. not sure why it is on 7 mate.

Knowing a little about stats - such a sample can be strangely accurate - inferential statistics are pretty good at what they do in general.

No - not at all. Inferential statistics can be surprisingly accurate in inferring from a small sample, what is going on in a population. How do you think they test drugs form instance - an N (umber) of 30 is often sufficient for many studies to allow researchers to infer to broader populations. They are an estimate, but based on solid statistical analysis - which would include certain criteria I would imagine that looks to make the sample representative of the broader population. Take coca-cola for instance - they have to ensure they are putting 375ml into their cans. - and are allowed a certain small margin of error - otherwise false advertising - how many cans you think they test daily on the factory floor to ensure this? They use one and use a, if I remember correctly, a single sample T-test which allows them to infer to the rest of the cans being made that day.
