I get confused reading those figures above .., done have regionals some dont. And when they do use the term "about" ... Are they guesses ? And can we stop with adding NZ ratings in ... It's another country. Do we add the American ratings for the baseball on fox ? Smells of desperation.
But I'm happy to say nrl won if that was the case on total figures for 6 city plus fox. If that was the case. Why is their always conjecture? Hence I stick to 5 city metro plus fox as only reliable figures.

NZ Just like 9, just like fox, have a contract to show the NRL. They pay 100m for the privilidge .There viewers on Sky are no different to the ones on Fox. As far as Im, If the AFL ever get a contact to show a AFL outside of the box that they live in feel free to add it.
It seems to suit you people to only count part of the the Tv audience - the part that best suits you. Counting just Metro might means counting just part of the Audience - So it means absolutely nothing!

Totally disagree pussy cat ... Smells of desperation. Why not add in all ratings figures of every country. If you want to compare ratings of AFL and nrl on New Zealand then by all means count all nz tv. Do you think sky count the Australian ratings in their figures.
So should union count all ratings from South Africa and New Zealand to?

Most on here seem to argue which code is more watched in Australia. If you need to include ratings from other countries to win your code is obviously not the most watched in Australia.

TV Ratings for the 2013 AFL Grand Final:
4.48M (peak) - Metro + Regionals
3.63M (average) - Metro + Regionals
This includes a peak of 1.28M in Melb and 559k in Perth.

Nz Warriors are an Nrl club - it would be totally unfair not to include there hometown viewers. Just like Newcastle Knight, Illawarra, Canberra Raiders, North Qld and most of the Gold Coast. The AFL has 17 Metro clubs , The NRL 8 .5. The only fair way of calculating figures is to include all NRL/AFL markets. Both games are shown/promoted overseas - there is Much, much more interest for the NRL . None contrbute to the NRL/AFL,s bottom line and counting these viewers would be near impossible and pointless!

Want to try that again?
@Todd_Greenberg: The ratings for Friday night’s game between @SSFCRABBITOHS & @manlyseaeagles was

as we said, we've won every final so far, and Sunday will make it a clean sweep.

the delusion .........
1 final out of 8 is what the VFL have won so far
the NRL taking the cake for the other 7
& that figure should be 1/9.... around 9pm next Sunday

When we are comparing most watched team in Australia and people count NZ ratings something is wrong . If you wanted to argue who watches more across the two countries combined ... Them sure add nz ratings in by all means.
