The AFL Grand Final (match) was the week’s top show with 2.72m metro viewers. It was down from 2013′s game of 2.96m when Sydney took on Hawthorn, but better than 2010 and 2011.

So there the metro figures ... Not too bad.

Xman .... You're forgetting one thing ... Dave just makes stuff up. I think to him it is real. I think he may base it on some form of supposed logic, like .... Me and my neighbour watched it and the guy across the road ... And my mum ... That's half our street therefore that translates to half of Australia ...... But in his head it is real I think ... Hence using facts just won't work .... I don't know why you bother really. I think we should just all ignore him. It's hard as he is so far removed from reality you want to correct him and think it should be easy .... I mean look at the crowds thread... He still argues that the nrl gets better crowds or dances around it as If admitting that it did would mean he would loose his right arm. So there is no point really. Ask him to state which code gets bigger average crowds and he'll struggle to answer with AFL. Then ask yourself why you bother if he can't even reason this simple fact. You're just wasting your breathe on someone who is ridiculed by other nrl fans as being fanatical in his hate of AFL and Victoria to the point of hysteria.

The ratings never went up by 30% you goose. They went up by 10% or so overall. The FTA dropped because of the viewers that changed to Foxtel. Why did they rise by 10%. Hmm, maybe because for the first time ever AFL fans could watch live AFL which finished before 11pm. And Perth fans actually got to see the game before it actually finished.

Suck it up pal. The AFL have owned the NRL in ratings all year. You just stick your fingers in your ears and ignore all the ratings. Poor poor dear :_<>
