Usually it does, but when you factor in perth and sydney, it might be able to make up the difference

If the game is close, it will most likely crack 500k in melb, then maybe 300k in perth? syd and adelaide should do another 300k combined

Was just reading over at Media Spy that the Sydney vs Cartlon final outrated the Wallabies in Sydney on FTA and I assume PayTV. My god, who would have thought that was possible in Sydney. Clearly the AFL is making massive inroads in Sydney/NSW. Well done. =D> =D> =D>

Afls heartland metro population is 7.5m. The regional population is 2.5m. How is it surprising the regionals rate at about 1/3rd? Every time the AFL or ch7 quote a national figure this is proven. Except the GF where the regional ratings are very close to the NRLs

So last night the AFL rated comfortably over 1.9m

Lol it smashed the nRL last night! And neither Hawthorn or Geelong are in the AFL's "big 4" for total support. They'd be classified as mid sized AFL clubs in Victoria, although they absolutely maul nRL clubs in Sydney.
