Hup hup hup, the dancing bear is back!

Topper the totals in the ratings have been proven to be suspect and clearly incorrect in several ways. Beaussie even admitted to errors not so long ago and apologised. Beaussie is also a staunch aussie rules fan and is happy for his site not to be objective in several ways so that aussie rules appears as Australias premier sport. He's actually quite obsessed and has said before that AFL is life. So its his religion too, which is fine and good for him he has such passion but we all know that religion isnt objective.

LAst I recall Raiders numbers include regionals. Regionals are australians too topper me boy, so raiders numbers are more comprehensive and accurate that beaussie.

Hey cos789 the ABS has many numbers which point out aussie rules strength but i never saw anything on numbers of viewers so i dont know why you bothered raising this point? Still swerving away from the topic I guess. But on this note did you ever notice how the ABS reveals soccer as australias number 1 sport for juniors?

There are no reliable figures for regional Australia. One of the two sources (ThinkTV) is completely out of touch. So there are no regional figures. Until such time as those figures are recorded properly they can not be included. The capital city figures are correct as far as I can tell, because they include all the games and not just the top games.

Has always been my point. Regional figures are dodgy when most parts of Australia aren't even counted.

Including regional figures though is surely much better than leaving them all out?

I don't know what you are trying to say, but there are large parts of Australia that watch AFL on TV that don't show up on the big city ratings system. For starters football mad Tasmania doesn't appear as well as mainland rural cnetres.

One must take into account that the majority of the Australian population is contained in the five big cities.

they're only dodgey according to you.... because they report the truth ..... & the truth doesn't suit you
the reality is theres nothing dodgey about them at all

Rugby League so far ahead ... & getting further ahead its astounding to AFL fans
but not to we leaguies

we've always known our sport is the most popular in the country
a few big crowds at AFL games .. or fudged memberships figures can't change that

embrace it
deal with it
& you'll sleep better at night

no shame in 2nd afterall

They do NOT! I've always said that the way the ratings is done needs to be reviewed, especially that garbage regional figures that as Beau has always said misses chunks of the regional areas - as well as counting overlaps leading to inflated figures, especially on the Gold Coast and in regional SA. So shut up, Raider, and stop spouting rubbish.

That's enough.
