NRL set to walk away from Perth expansion plans

Rugby league’s bid to expand into Western Australia is on life support, with the NRL on the verge of walking away from plans to add a Bears-affiliated team in Perth.

Barring a last-minute increase in the financial package being offered by the WA government to secure a rugby league team for its state, the NRL will next week formally vote on a decision to abandon the plan to introduce a Perth-based team in the next broadcast cycle, which begins in 2028.
you wonder how much of this is legitimate or just a beat up to draw attention to the team! Wow! Can you imagine what Perth would be like without a Bum sniffing team? I think the only ones that would be upset would be the North Sydney Teddy bears fans that have been left without a team in the wilderness all these years.
Oh oh!!!!!! You've missed another appointment Skip. Back to the shrink for you pal.

You mean you have never heard of the lost, wandering, homeless, useless, unwanted leeching baby North Sydney Teddy bears? They have been sucking, clawing and begging to get back into the Thugby competition for years and years now. They are trying to become the Perth team but bum sniffing fans want their very own team and not a rejected nappyless, hapless bunch of baby Teddy bears. Gee, can the Thugby can not get anything right.

(PVL v COOK) lol

Perth Agreed to terms for grassroots and Schools etc. but have said no to Stadium Upgrade.

PVL and commission are putting it to a vote with the clubs later this week on TEAM 19

It is all pointing to a DELAY in PERTH TEAM to Entry Year. into early 2030's

(which i think is a Dumb Move, but will wait and see..) So much stories...

the all so called wealthy National ****** League has no money to fund expansions and demands governments should be footing the bill. The snake oils salesman of PV landys throws tantrum when he doesnt get his way like he did when the Brisbane government released the review on the olympic venues

to a degree yeah, Perth added a new market and new time zone.
I don't think the ship has sailed its just in a Storm

PVL stated he wanted Perth sorted asap so he can start tv deal talks..
you would think you want to bring Perth to the table for added exposure in these talks.
makes little sense... wrong chess move.

Details of the WA Gov offer for the NRL
- 20m for COE at Malaga Sports Preinct
- 35m over 5 years towards grassroots through schools and clontarf foundation
- gameday support package

Also

- never intended a JV with the NRL
- WA Gov felt the NRL should have continued to negotiate with the private consortium

the stadium upgrade looks the deal breaker here...

Something the AFL are pushing in TASMANIA>>> but that figure looks to be 1.5 billion
Please shut up.. AFL are pushing for way more for a side than the NRL are, your facts do not add up

And if your going to talk like this in future, do not expect a reply.
