Once League was introduced into Australia it begun to quickly over take Union.
AFL had a 50 year head start on Rugby league and still cannot get anywhere across the Murray.
Why is league only remotely popular anywhere in the world where union is?
If league was so successful around the world why isn’t it popular where is not?

& for the record league has bearly expanded out of nsw or Qld! Where AFL has strong leagues and interest all around the county! Even nsw and Qld
I would hardly call AFL getting out rated by teletubies and it's footy shows being shown after midnight in NSW & Qld strong interest
Just look where Rugby League is setting up teams in..
Canada - Toronto Wolfpack
Papua New Guinea - PNG Hunters
And now we will have a Fijian team in NSW cup by 2020.
Meanwhile AFL Can't even get decent support in a single other nation.
China was an embarrassment, we get told sellouts every year and the stadium is half empty with only Aussie ex pats attending and no Chinese lol..
And you cancelled games in New Zealand due to such low support.

League only remotely popular around the world thanks to union
About the storm!
The swans are the largest team in nsw and storm mode irrelevant in Melbourne
The AFL could make teams several times over filled with current players from from just nsw and Qld alone
The storm couldn’t even half fill a side of players from Victoria, even with players dug up from their graves and dragged around the field weekend at but at burnies style

In Australia rl has nearly expanded out side of nsw or Qld.
You couldn’t fill a team of players from Victoria concerting a 90 plus year gap. There you can field several teams over with planets from Qld or nsw in an AFL team of current players several times over!

League only has it over Union in 2 countries PNG and AUS
league was more popular than UNION in France for short period..
before it was BANNED BY the Government... If you dont believe me .. use google..

I’ve never claimed AFL to be bigger world wide!
My point is thanks to the union the ********* version of rugby “league” has centuries of European heritage behind it as opposed to Australian rules a sport developed locally here!
Of course league will be bigger internationally due to those factors!
But funny enough league is only popular where union is!
