POLICE and the WA Football Commission are investigating a mass brawl between parents and staff of opposing teams at a Year 7 junior football game in Yangebup on Saturday.

Police said they were called to Nicholson Reserve, Yangebup, about 2.30pm after reports of a disturbance.

When they arrived on the scene, they found 30 people involved in a confrontation.

The brawl involved parents, spectators and staff from the Kelmscott Junior Football Club and Lakes Junior Football Club.

Interesting times indeed. Roosters currently working out a deal with the South Australian Government plans to go there more often. The Victorian government bidding on SOO and the NRL Grand Final.

Yep ... still difficult for many kids to play rl however in many parts of each state. That's were they need to work at alongside the games at nrl level ... but a good start. South Aussies are more parochial than Victorians about their footy lol

Massive decrease comparing to 10-15 years ago for rugby league juniors. You're right, they shifting their kids to soccer not only because its less dangerous but we become more multicultural every year.

I have heard changes for RL juniors to be classed by weight not age, is that in effect everywhere or only some? I got talking to a Maori man from new Zealand at my workplace and he said growing up they were put in weight divisions in new Zealand years ago. But he played Union.
